Poured a hazy golden color with a white head. The head held up nicely at about a single finger width.

The aroma was very grape driven, with some other fruity notes. The flavor was mostly grapes, which also offered some banana and clove with a bit of spiciness. A medium bodied beer with a pleasant mouthfeel and a clean finish. Something that was unique to try but I am unsure as to how many I could actually drink.

Served in a tulip glass at Local Option.

Figured I'd drop in on the Option before heading up to the Cubs game; didn't think I'd come across a newly-tapped Evil Twin offering. It's described as a tripel brewed with white grapes. Right on. It pours a lightly-hazy golden-amber-brass topped by a bit over a finger of white foam. The nose comprises light white grape-peach juice, Belgian candi sugar, clove, Runts-style banana (that's in terms of sweetness, not artificiality), and a pinch of white bread. The taste leads off with what seem like chardonnay grapes, which then dovetail into sweet banana, light clove, and a touch of black pepper and cinnamon. But the grapes really seem to run the show. The body is a lithe medium, with a light moderate carbonation and a slightly slick feel. Overall, a very nice tripel, one that shows what's possible when one knows how to properly utilize grapes in the brewing process.
