Poured from a 12 oz bottle into a Sam Adams special pint glass.

A: that is no porter its a dark stout. Its a black witches cauldron of death. I can just see the Ale bubbles rise through the glass. The milk chocolate head dissipates rather quickly to little more than a thin ring around the edge.

S: malty juniper berry, mocha bean, thick molasses, burnt sugar, alcohol esthers. Raspberry puree. Smells like their imperial biscotti break.

T: wow holy fucking Moses! This is no porter..its a super alcohol raging stout. Its as if you put a 1/4 ounce of whiskey in a small tumbler and then pouring a fruit forward Russian imperial stout on top then drinking it. Its a boozer clone of imperial biscotti break. Molasses, dark candied fruits, tannery malts, dark cocoa, juniper fruits.
M: this is oil slick in a bottle. Medium carbonation. Frothy.

O: this is one super heavy beer. Massive fruits and malts. Boozy as no other. Evil twin has a masterful full flavor for dark boozy imperials. A must have for any stout lover!

If you're looking for a rock-heavy porter with a lot of alcohol, the Danes have a brew for you!

An opaque black brew with a tan head.

Smells of barnyard and malt.

Tastes of sweet malt and shoe polish. A man's ale: "Hey, bartender, put that in a dirty glass."

Tastes heavy... really heavy, man.

11.2oz, $3.99 bottle into a New Belgium Globe.

A: Viscous, syrupy opaque pour leaves a filmy residue on the glass; short lived off-khaki head.

S: Big malt, roasted and sugary, hints of espresso, vanilla, molasses, charcoal and dark fruit. Booze is very subdued, though there is a hint of almond and a suggestion of spirit barrel.

T: A touch more burn on the palate; dark, sugary black patent malt...awesome body on this thing. More suggestions of almond, vanilla, and deep dark caramel. Again, more suggestion of barrel-aging; this porter drinks like a big barrel-aged stout.

MF: Full bodied and viscous with low carbonation; chewy.

O: Really good, non-BA porter. Big body, with a depth of flavors and aromas.
