The label says a smoked pilsner, that doesn't seem to fit this beer much.Poured into a becker a slight hazed honey color with a large blooming sticky white head that left multiple broken rings of lace as it settled into a frothy mass.Citrusy hops and mild toasted grain stand out most with the smoke being pretty faint.Quite dry on the palate with leafy and citric hops standing out mostly with faint smoke in the finish.A full bodied beer it goes down pretty easy.I like this beer,it's not alot like a pilsner in the flavor and aroma department, and it's not very smokey, still it's pretty damn good and great on a hot humid day like today.

Poured from a 12 oz. bottle into a tall pint glass. Bottled on 02/10/14.
Appearance: Pours a hazy straw golden orange with a lot of rising bubbles. Solid two fingers of white head with decent retention. Leaves a good amount of lacing.
Smell: A bready and earthy malt forward aroma with good hints of smoke and cracker. Pale malt with hints of grains, wheat, biscuit, straw, crackers, and yeast. Hints of smoke and wood that are noticeable but not overly strong. Earthy and floral hop presence with some hints of noble hops. Also some subtle citrus fruit hints of lemon and orange. A pretty interesting and solid aroma.
Taste: Like it smells, a bready and fairly earthy malt driven taste with good notes of smoke, biscuit, and cracker. Upfront pale malt with notes of biscuit, straw, grains, wheat, crackers, and yeast. Solid taste of smoke and wood notes that are nicely balanced with the pils flavor. Floral and earthy hops with some noble notes. Citrus fruit notes of lemon and orange. A pretty nice and interesting taste.
Mouthfeel: Medium bodied with a moderate amount of carbonation. Crisp, clean, and pretty smooth and drying.
Overall: A pretty solid twist on a Pilsener. The smoke adds an interesting kick without overwhelming the soft pils malt notes.

Poured into pilsener glass; clear golden in color with a nice fluffy white head. Picture perfect lager pour.
Smells of clear malt, grassy hops, and a hint of dry woody smoke.
Taste follows nose; dry crackly grass and hints of woody smoke intermingle with clean, crackery pilsener malt. Very drinkable.
Mouthfeel is light and semi-dry.
Overall, an interesting beer. I thought the smoke would come into play more, but it's well-balanced and tasty regardless. Evil Twin succeeds very well at making unique and surprising beers, while keeping them balanced and drinkable.

Pour like any normal light beer ... No really detectable aroma, nothing for the nose to pick up on.
The first taste and all I could feel is carbonation, a bit too much for my liking.
Then, I can taste smoke, lots of it. Now I know what it feels like to be a ham inside a smoker!
The smoked taste and the light carbonated style was very balanced for me.

Poured into a pilsner glass- beautiful golden color, three fingers of foamy white head and great retention and lacing. Couldn't ask it to look any better.
Smell is interesting- not a refined scent but interesting and earthy. I smell some yeasty funk along with a sort of burnt campfire thing.
Taste is equally unusual but better blended- yeast funk remains throughout the taste, campfire tastes longer towards the end, earthy grains up front and a pretty clean dry finish.
Mouthfeel is good- medium light body, crisply carbonated. This is certainly a very interesting take on a pilsner and perhaps something a cowboy would drink.

Smoky.. Light in color and relatively foamy. Smell is definitely smoky with some light maltiness in the background. Pilsner flavor is there but overpowered by the bitterness of the smoke. I dig it... Although if you're not into rauchbiers or smoke you won't like this. Overall.. A very pleasant surprise.. Look forward to trying the ashtray heart now.

Served from bottle into a COAST Willi. Poured a slightly hazy red-orange with a one finger white head that subsided to half a finger slowly. Maintained phenomenal lacing throughout the glass. The aroma was comprised of sweet malt, wheat, smoke, smoked meat, and grain. The flavor was of sweet malt, smoked meat, smoke, wheat, and spice. It had a light feel on the palate with medium carbonation. Overall this was a good brew. The smokiness on this one really stands out and makes it quite intriguing upon first investigation. I am a big fan of smoked brews when they are done correctly and this one seems to be spot on for what I enjoy. Nice smoky flavors with a nice kiss of sweetness to keep your palate from getting overwhelmed easily. This made it quite easy to drink and would make it easy to drink in large quantities at a cookout. An absolute must try for any fan of the smoke. You won’t regret doing so.
