Black and viscous. Deep and rich. No head, almost no lacing at all. Agree with hint of coffee, cherry. Charcoal, tar, espresso, dark chocolate, tobacco, leather? If you were in a cigar bar, you'd want this to accompany your smoke....and take your time with both.

A- Pitch black. It slides into the glass like the sneakiest of cat burglars at night. This one is so black it makes dark look light. Half a finger of a caramel color head.
S- Raw coffee, vanilla, and hints of chocolate rolls on a roasted malt backbone.
T- A mix of espresso, chocolate, and smokey, charred notes. The roasted character is quite strong as it borders on astringency. I love the fudge-like start, but the finish is somewhat of a let down.
M- This aspect is so damn impressive. You can cut this baby with a knife. Very little alcohol detected at 12%.
O- Not bad overall. Few stouts are this impressive in the look and feel. The taste isn't bad either.
$9 for 11.2 oz bottle

Poured into a Fremont small snifter. Pours pitch black with a thin brown head with good retention and light lacing. Aroma of toasted dark malt, mocha, mild dark chocolate, vanilla and a bit of coffee. Flavor is dark toasted malt with a hint of sweetness, peaty smoke, dark chocolate, dark dried fruit, finishing malty, slightly smoky with a light hop bitterness. Medium, nicely creamy body, good mouth feel. A very pleasant dark, toasty and mildly smoky imperial stout with great balance and so densely flavorful that the ABV is barely noticeable. Superb. Pricey, but rewarding. Evil Twin sure know how to pick its participating breweries. This Spanish one knows its chops.
