Draft at Tørst in Brooklyn.
Pours a slightly cloudy, dark golden yellow color with straw colored edges and a one finger, white foam head that quickly settles into a lasting ring. Splotchy lacing left behind.
Slightly earthy, crisp hop aroma with pale malt and light fruit notes. Grassy with sappy pine needle followed by hints of apple, straw, pale pilsner malt and biscuit.
Similar to aroma with a crisp hop bite up front that lingers over the pale malts into a slightly dry finish. Nice grassy presence with sweet apple and pear flavor. Nothing too exciting but this beer is crisp, refreshing and easy to drink.

Firstoff, this is an unapologetic pilsener that is slightly hopped up and it definitely lives up to the title. Jokes about the name aside ("the golddigger of beers") the color is cracker yellow, body is clean, the flavors are balanced between bread and grass, and the finish is crisp. No apparent skunk from this round of bottles, and perfect for a hot evening with some legit Mexican food.
Worth the $12 for a 4 pack ($3.00 a beer)? I would pay $3 for this over any mainstream lager or most German pilseners, including Jever, given the choice. In conclusion, this is a refreshingly dry pilsener that lives up to its claims and not anyone else's.

Bottle at Whole Foods, Alexandria, VA. The beer is golden with a mild haze. An inch of fluffy white head. Aromas of grain, mild lemon, bread. Typical pilsner flavors with subtle notes of earth and herbal hops. Light bodied, finishing dry with lingering grain and bread flavors. This was alright.
