A - Pours a dark brown, looks thick and has a dark khaki head.

S - A rich and abundant nose. Coffee, roasted malts, dough and semi-sweet chocolate (borderline chocolate syrup).

T - Chocolate syrup up front (not a syrup mouthfeel), caramelized sugar with coffee and roasted malts on the backend.

M - Full bodied and low carbonation. Really smooth and finishes well.

O - Obviously, it's a little on the sweeter side from the base beer. But, I like this version as it's not overdone.

Bottle opened on 1.30.14

A - Pours a very dark brown with a huge brown head.

S - Sweet doughy, a tiny hint of vanilla.

T - Glazed sugar, vanilla, chocolate, yep.

D - Good carbonation with a heavy body.

O - The tast does resemble a glazed doughnut, sub-conscience, maybe.

22oz bottle. Pours a thick pitch black color with an inch of dark brown head. Good amount of lacing. The aroma is Very rich. Chocolate syrup, sugar, coffee, earth, dough and espresso. The taste is lots of rich chocolate syrup upfront with some caramelized sugar, and espresso. Somewhat doughy with a big alcohol presence. Very sweet as expected. Chocolate syrup and some warming alcohol at the end. Heavy and creamy mouthfeel. Not picking up on much doughnut flavor but I'm guessing it's just mixed in with all the other flavors. I really liked Imperial Biscotti Break so that's why I picked this one up. I like Imperial Biscotti Break more but this one is good as well. Overall, very sweet and pricey but worth trying at least once.

Pours thick as oil & black with a sliver of mocha head, there is some visible bubbles. Nice ily sheen, zero head retention or lacing

S: Dark fruit & dark chocolate, & whisper of booze

T: Dark chocolate, a little iron, licorice, molasses & charred grain & MAYBE some doughnut up front. Baker's chocolate, charred grain,& dryness as this warms. Finishes dry, slightly boozey with dark chocolate, & a little caramel, plus some coffee late

MF: Chewy, lively carbonation, thins out a bit once warm

Pretty good for what it is, but give me Biscotti Break any day. Enjoyed it, but over priced, & a little unrefined, Evil Twin I will continue to roll the dice on you, but probably wouldn't if I lived back in Colorado still

Pours jet black with a mocha head that leaves a modest layer of foam.

Cinnamon and subtle chocolate, with a hint of roast, form the aroma. There's an underlying booze and dark fruit character, but cinnamon is definitely dominant.

Flavor is far more roasty, with roast malt lingering throughout, notes of coffee surfacing early, and fading to bittersweet chocolate at the finish. Vanilla and dark cherries add complexity. Cinnamon surfaces in the aftertaste. The balance is chocolatey.

Body is smooth and thick, with minimal carbonation and noted alcohol warmth.

I prefer this to biscotti because of the more subtle coffee. The cinnamon is great in aroma, and makes a more subdued appearance in the aftertaste. Very well balanced and complex.

Serving: Bomber poured into a tulip

A: Pours a thick, jet black with a one finger or so tan head that dissipates quickly.

S: Bitter chocolate, coffee, picking up on the sweetness

T: Follows the nose. Bitter chocolate, coffee, definite sweetness. Slight booziness, but barely comes across for me. Not picking up a distinct "doughnut" flavor, but there is some definite sweetness there. Overall, tastes fantastic.

M: Thick, with light carbonation.

O: Right up there with what I'd expect from a stout/porter from Evil Twin. Not picking up any real doughnut flavor, but still a fantastic beer. Was worried that it might be too sweet for my liking, but was not the case.

My first full review! Here it goes. Poured from a bomber into a snifter glass.

A- Jet Black with no head. Small ring around the top of the glass.

S- A big hit of Roasted Coffee, Chocolate and Malt. Not much else comes through.

T- it has a very roasted smell as well. Like a dark coffee. Mostly coffee and chocolate with a small hint of caramelized sugar at the finish.

M- Not too heavy but definitely a sipping beer. Bottle has a sweetness to it but not overpowering like other imperial stouts/porters.

O- well worth trying. A very good porter for an after dinner drink
