Beer is black with a smallish tan head. Head fades fairly quickly. No lace.
Nose contains a mix of chocolate and citrus. The Brett is there as well, imparting a bit of a funky/yeasty scent, but it is not prominent. To be honest, if I had not been looking for it, I might not have noticed it. However, it is not hard to notice when looking.
The Brett is more prominent in the taste, resulting in a flavour that is quite dry and a bit a bit medicinal. The chocolate and citrus are also present, bringing in the more expected black IPA flavours. The two are quite balanced - neither is more prominent than the other. That being said, it is not a balance that works that well. I find the flavours to clash somewhat.
Medium bodied, moderately carbonated. Quite dry.
Overall, pretty good, but not great. The Brett imparts a very noticeable dryness, but not a lot of the flavours that I tend to associate with Brett. I don't know enough about Brett or the brewing process to say why this is, but the all-Brett beers that I have had seem to often turn out this way - dry but not the sour cherry-like flavour that I often get in beers where Brett only plays part of the role.
