Hazy pinkish hue with tons of fizzy carbonation.

Tart aroma with light blueberries. Kind of reminds me of the old blueberry new york seltzer waters.

Blueberries are light in the flavor, but it works. Lacto acidity and funky.

Light and crisp mouthfeel. Great carbonation.

A fine Berliner Weiss.

Normally, I'm not a fan of sour or fruit beers. My husband ordered this at a local gastro pub and decided he didn't like it. As someone who hates to see beer go to waste, I decided to finish it up for him. Surprisingly, I actually liked this beer quite a bit. Open the first taste, you get a bit of dry sourness but then it turns into a round, juicy flavor that I rather enjoyed. I might need to rethink sour beers now.

Appearance – Pours a cloudy dark orange pink color with a good head and light lacing.

Smell – Bitter lemon, sour funkiness but no blueberries.

Taste – A sour cidery/white wine taste; I don’t really notice any blueberry flavor.

Mouthfeel – Tart, nicely carbonated, with a mild sour aftertaste.

Drinkability – A sour cidery beer without much blueberry flavor.

Not something I expected at all. Very sour and I am not a fan of sours. But I thought the blueberry taste would make it a sweeter more palatable beer.

Thanks to Dan/Emma for sharing this last night in what turned out to be a pretty darn good tasting. This is the third time I have had this brew.

A- Hazy bodied brew poured from the bomber to a wine glass, a bit of a pink shade to it. A white foamy crown forms on the beer but it falls fairly quickly. A ring of bubbles leaves spotty lacing.

S- Blueberries, wheat and some lactic lemony tart notes. The blueberries certainly have a fresh, authentic aroma rather than some flavoring or extract.

T- Again, for me the dominant flavor here is the blueberries; certainly deserving of some credit to get a flavor this big out of them. Wheaty and just a tiny bit tart for me in the underlying Berliner base.

MF- Definitely a shade under medium bodied and somewhat thin like a ginger ale or something. Carbonation moderate-high but it lacks much texture and finishes just a bit tart.

I commend Evil Twin for getting an authentic, fairly strong blueberry flavor into a beer but for me it seems like there is a divide between the fruit and the Berliner and they don't ever find a complete marriage.

Tooty fruity fresh and fruity! No, no. Not that fake, processed junk. This is the real deal here. Kind of like a Monet, this bad sucker is good from afar, but s but murky up close. Smell? A little of this, a little of that, and this and huh. Not the best, but nothing off putting. Blueberry comes through beautifully like as if it were the warmest color.

Raul recommended.

Lots of peeps be all like, "Waaaaa! Not enough Blueberry, blah blah blah". Well too bad. Chock full of tart blueberry flavor bub, super tasty. Pretty pink color too that make all the ladies go "Ohhhh!!! Look at that manly man drinking a pink beer! Waz his phone number?!" Almost drinks like a cider with that yummy lacto funk. 10/10 would drink again.

Pour is a dark copper with a ruby hue and a lot of off white head. Nose is fleshy and meaty blueberry followed by a dirty malt, a lot of sugars, and a hint of lime. Taste is hot, fake meaty blueberry, dirty malts and grain, a hint of acetic acid, moderate acidity, and sugary finish. Body is messy, medium body, prickly finish.

A - Very hazy pinkish orange color. White head with a slight touch of pink that fades rather quickly. A decent amount of floaties drift down to the bottom of the glass.
S - Not a fan of the smell. Funky hay with some vague fruit-like qualities, but it doesn't scream blueberry.
T - Better than the smell. Initially tart, and some sweet blueberry comes through on the tail end. Again, tastes of other fruits make an appearance.
M - Moderately fizzy with a dry aftertaste.
O - Glad I gave this one a try, but I was hoping for much more blueberry than I got. I would definitely recommend it for anyone that enjoys the style, though.

Nice looking body, orange, pink, amber tones with a soapy, white head. Aroma is tart fruit, unripened blueberries, grassy wheat. Taste is on point. Tart, puckering sourness, lots of fruity flavors, an earthy wheat finish. Body is sticky, puckering, tart, lingering finish. A great take on the style, I'm a fan.

A - Nice purple hue with a creamy head that dissipates quickly.
S - Sour blueberries with a little hint of Belgian yeast.
T - Upfront sourness that dissipates into fresh blueberries and a quick finish.
M - Crisp and thin with a dryness that seems to cleanse the palate.
O - Nice, refreshing Berliner Weissbier. Nearly perfect summertime aperitif.

Appearance is a light purple color with a fizzy white head.
Aroma is tart, light blueberry, bready.
Taste is a nice balance of bitter, tart, and a little sweet.
You don't get much blueberry but there's some fruit quality.
Mouthfeel is medium to thin with not much lingering flavor.
I found this to be a refreshing beer.

Pours purple-tinged amber with a fading head.
Nose hints at acidity to follow, soft blueberry and elderflower.
Reasonably acidic flavours, but there's a fair bit of blueberry sweetness too. Stupidly drinkable stuff.
Nice high carbonation, suits the flavours well.

22 ounce bottle - Hop City in Birmingham, Alabama.

Appearance: A softly hazed, orangey body hit with a little tinge of rosiness. A white head foams up and drops out of sight just as fast.

Smell: Though distinctive, the blueberry scent isn't altogether effusive, but does stand out against the modestly scented wheat malt base.

Taste: Lightly sweet, lightly sourish blueberry countered by a puckering punch of citric lemon and give a sprinkling of table salt. Faint straw-like wheat well washed with sparkling mineral water. Tart, lemony, acetic finish

Mouthfeel: Medium-thin body. Amply carbonated, fine in texture, a bit like a champagne.

Overall: Simply dreadful packaging, but the beer was fairly nice.

A - Pours a cloudy pink with a two-finger light pink head.

S - White vinegar, lemon, and funky yeast.

T - Quite sour with a mix of vinegar, lemon, and lactic acid. The blueberries are very mild and almost undetecable providing the slightest bit of sweetness. Some biscuity malt on the finish.

M - Light bodied with high carbonation. Crisp mouthfeel with a dry finish.

O - This was more like a gueze than a berliner weiss. The blueberries are barley noticeable in this. Recommended for fans of the style. Otherwise just ok.

Poured into plastic beer cup at a party haha. Everyone hated it but me which was perfectly ok, more for me! Appapesrence wise, typical for style, a pale almost watered down lemonade look to it.

Smelled tart sweet and slight like blueberries. Taste at first was very tart whith a solid sweet/tart blueberry taste to it. At first it was a little less tart than I hoped for until. I poured the rest of the bottle into my cup with all the yeast at the bottom. That kicked it up a notch and was much more mouth puckering tarty with sour blueberry tones. Solid Berliner and would like to drink again.

Pours an effervescent pinkish hued orange with a pinky of pearl colored head. No head retention or lacing

S: Grassyness, a little berry tartness

T: Serious tartness, a little blueberry, some lemongrass up front. Tart blueberries, a slight touch of lemon & a hint tangerine peel as this warms, a little wheatyness there as well. Finishes with very tart blueberry, & a touch of lemon

MF: Light bodied, delicate carbonation

Super drinkability, if this wasn't so bloody expensive, I'd drink this all summer. Not 100% married to the style, but this is a damn good beer

This is my first experience with this style of beer and I'm not quite sure what to expect. It poured a hazy purple amber color with a fizzy white head and almost no lacing. The aroma was a funky blend of lemon, blueberries, and yeast. Mouth was light and refreshing. There is no coating effect and the flavor (aside from the bite) only lasts as long as the sip. The flavor is quite tart and acidic. Lots of lemon; even more so than the blueberries (of which there are an abundance of). Virtually no alcohol bite and absolutely no malt. This is different; not sure its my cup of tea but refreshing and interesting none the less.

22 ounce bottle into tulip glass, no bottle dating. Pours slightly hazy deep orange copper color with a 1-2 finger fairly dense light pink head with solid retention, that reduces to ring of lacing. Slight spotty lacing clings on the glass, with some light streaming carbonation. Aromas of tart blueberry, lemon, cherry, green apple, hay, straw, vinegar, musty funk, wheat, bread, herbal, and yeast earthiness. Very nice aromas with good complexity and balance of fruity/funky yeast, blueberry, and moderate malt notes; with good strength. Taste of tart blueberry, lemon, cherry, green apple, hay, straw, vinegar, musty funk, wheat, bread, herbal, and yeast earthiness. Good amount of fruity tartness on the finish; with lingering notes of blueberry, lemon, cherry, green apple, hay, straw, vinegar, musty funk, wheat, bread, herbal, and yeast earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Damn nice complexity and balance of fruity/funky yeast, blueberry, and moderate malt flavors; with a great sweetness/tartness balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Medium carbonation and body; with a smooth, crisp, and moderately acidic mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is well hidden with minimal warming present after the finish as expected for 4.5%. Overall this is an excellent Berliner weissbier. All around great balance, complexity, and robustness of fruity/funky yeast, blueberry, and moderate malt flavors; and very smooth and crisp to drink. A very enjoyable offering.

22 oz bottle into a wine glass, from two days ago.

A: Pours a totes magoats reddish pink color. A fizzy white-colored head starts off at a finger high, but its fizzy looking and retains poorly. No lacing is left behind. It's not as totes magoats as my pink Escalade daddy got me, either. =(

S: OMGGG!1 This is so totally acidic, with faint hints of blueberry. I want to say it's lemony, appley, and vinous as well. There's a bit of that acid stank, but it's hardly offensive.

T: Uh, lyke, where's the fLaVoR?!?! >___< It's vaguely sour to start and vaguely lemony on the finish. I don't think I even pick up much blueberry. This is more shallow than one of Justin Bieber's songs! I STILL <3 U BABY MARRY ME!!!

M: Oh wow, it's even thinner than me in feel, and I throw up at least twice a day to keep my size 0 figure! It feels like fizzy, fruit-flavored water. I bet none of you bitchez could chug this as fast I can!!!

O: I totes paid $13 for a bottle of carbonated blueberry water. =( oh well, at least it has Justin Bieber on it...wait, that's not Justin Bieber on the bottle? WHAT. THE. FUUUCK. *dies*

Served on tap a local brewpub, this Berliner weissbier pours reddish in color, almost like a wit bier infused with a strawberry lemonade. The smell is mostly sour with pronounced notes of fruit (mostly berries) and very faint hop aroma - faint notes of spices (coriander) are noticeable. Taste-wise its mostly a sour strawberry lemonade, leaving an equally sour aftertaste that contrasts nicely with its fruitiness. The mouthfeel is thin to medium bodied. Carbonation is very light.

Overall its a nice beer to enjoy in a warm sunny day but not my cup of tea. I do recommend trying it out, but don't get the bomber if you're not a fan of this style.
