Lots of peeps be all like, "Waaaaa! Not enough Blueberry, blah blah blah". Well too bad. Chock full of tart blueberry flavor bub, super tasty. Pretty pink color too that make all the ladies go "Ohhhh!!! Look at that manly man drinking a pink beer! Waz his phone number?!" Almost drinks like a cider with that yummy lacto funk. 10/10 would drink again.

A - Nice purple hue with a creamy head that dissipates quickly.
S - Sour blueberries with a little hint of Belgian yeast.
T - Upfront sourness that dissipates into fresh blueberries and a quick finish.
M - Crisp and thin with a dryness that seems to cleanse the palate.
O - Nice, refreshing Berliner Weissbier. Nearly perfect summertime aperitif.

22 ounce bottle - Hop City in Birmingham, Alabama.

Appearance: A softly hazed, orangey body hit with a little tinge of rosiness. A white head foams up and drops out of sight just as fast.

Smell: Though distinctive, the blueberry scent isn't altogether effusive, but does stand out against the modestly scented wheat malt base.

Taste: Lightly sweet, lightly sourish blueberry countered by a puckering punch of citric lemon and give a sprinkling of table salt. Faint straw-like wheat well washed with sparkling mineral water. Tart, lemony, acetic finish

Mouthfeel: Medium-thin body. Amply carbonated, fine in texture, a bit like a champagne.

Overall: Simply dreadful packaging, but the beer was fairly nice.

A: A cloudy pink to purple hued beer with a light pink to purple colored head of rocky textured foam.

S: An assertive vinegary punch to the nose with a faint hint of fruit.

T: A medium acidic tartness with almost no sweetness making for a fairly tart beer. There is a moderate berry flavor but nothing distinctive. The finish is of dry with a quick fruit aftertaste and a lingering sourness.

M: A medium-light bodied beer with a medium level of carbonation.

O: An unbalance sour with a decent amount of berry flavors. I enjoy the assertive tartness even it gets a bit out hand.

Hazy pinkish color with a ton of bubbly whitish-pink head. No real collar or lacing, but not typical for this style anyway. Taste is a nice refreshing tartness, some blueberry and a touch of lemon and some barnyard funk. High carbonation, and light body. Really great brew!

L: Pours hazy gold with a slight purple tint under a thin wisp of a foam cap.
S: Has a tart blueberry nose, with fruit and a suspicion of tomato.
T: Tart, blueberry, lemon action drinks dry and tart.
F: Medium high champagne carbonation, light bodied.
O: A tart refreshing beer. The berries tone down the tartness somewhat and the result is much better than I expected.

22oz bottle at fridge temp poured into a tulip.

A bit of a gusher. Pours out a hazy orange, almost pink color. Definatly looks like the color probably started light yellowish and was influenced by the blueberries. Big 2 fingers of soapy, fizzy white head quickly receeds to nothing. Lots of streaming carbonation bubbles.

The aroma is big lactic sourness with maybe a slight hint of a tart blueberry. As it warms you get a bit of funk and a lot more blueberry and maybe other berry like aromas. A hint of bread.

A nice taste, big sour, tart up front and then this very bready lactic yeastiness comes in. Breadiness lingers into the finish. Hard to find much blueberry flavor. Tart lemon citrus from the sour.

Not insanely sour, but packs a nice punch that will stick around in your palate. Somewhat refreshing and easy to drink. High carbonation. Light body.

I haven't had too many Berliners to say if this is to style or not but I enjoyed it. Didn't get much blueberry but has a nice lactic feel and sourness. I'd drink this again.

Hmm . . . weird but it tastes like the bottles looks. Worst bottle label ever. Well, I take my first statement back. The beer isn't as bad as the label.

Served on tap a local brewpub, this Berliner weissbier pours reddish in color, almost like a wit bier infused with a strawberry lemonade. The smell is mostly sour with pronounced notes of fruit (mostly berries) and very faint hop aroma - faint notes of spices (coriander) are noticeable. Taste-wise its mostly a sour strawberry lemonade, leaving an equally sour aftertaste that contrasts nicely with its fruitiness. The mouthfeel is thin to medium bodied. Carbonation is very light.

Overall its a nice beer to enjoy in a warm sunny day but not my cup of tea. I do recommend trying it out, but don't get the bomber if you're not a fan of this style.

ST: Pint poured into a pint glass.

A: Dark orange, almost grapefruit, white head.

S: Sharp sour, almost wine-like, salt, minerals.

T: A sour / tart explosion of fruit with a malty finish.

M: Light and dry.

O: A very fun beer for sour beer lovers.

22oz bottle poured into a snifter.

A: Pours a very hazy blueish red with a foamy slightly reddish white head. Head fleets to the sides leaving some spots of lacing on the glass.

S: Very tart aroma with a hefty vinegar character. Blueberry certainly comes through adding some sweetness. Real nice funky aspect to this that lets you know its going to be sour. Bit of an oaky note to it as well.

T: What a flavor on this one. Starts off with a real sour and tart profile. Soon the wheat begins to form its flavor and overtakes the sour. Blueberry rounds out the backend very well lingering far into the aftertaste.

M: Puckering mouthfeel with a very crisp finish. Light to medium body with pretty good carbonation. A bit dry from the tartness.

Overall this is an enjoyable beer with a real nice wheat base to it. Blueberry is authentic and doesnt come across to fake or sweet.

A: Red-orange in color, nice white head. Not much for lace.

S: Aroma immediately reminds me of Founder's Cerise but with blueberry. And that is one of my favorite fruit beers. This beer however smells very nice. Sweet berries, fresh cracked malts, tangy fruit, and mouthwatering in general.

T: Flavor is delightfully blueberry, tangy and sour, malty fresh, and endlessly swirlable. Very nice.

M: Soft and delicate yet sharp with sour and bitter pointiness. Slick texture and well carbonated. A touch of syrup.

O: Pretty awesome. More would be very welcome.

Pours a hazy pinkish yellow hue. Big head quickly recedes to a ring around the glass.

On the nose is funky tart blueberries. Some barnyard yeast funk as well.

Taste is tart blueberries. Barnyard yeast. A bit sour on the finish. Comes and goes without much going on.

Good carbonation. Light bodied but not watery.

Decent beer. Would drink again but don't know if it's worth buying.

Consumed on 8/24/2012. Poured into a chalice type glass.

The hazy, pinkish-red liquid that comes out of the bottle is intriguing, and not just because of the ridiculous name and bottle. The beer smells strongly of blueberries and lacks any type of head, really. Lingering behind in the aroma is some tartness and blueberry pie crust. In the taste there's not as much blueberry as I was expecting, which was a pleasant surprise actually. The smell had me a little worried. There's just enough sweetness and a nice tartness that's mellowed out by the berries. Nice light malt backbone true to the Berliner style and good carbonation. All in all, this was a pleasant surprise and a very solid Berliner Weisse.

Thanks to Schen9303 for this one. 22oz bottle into Tired Hands stemware.

Pours like blueberry puree. Thick, cloudy and purple. Light pink colored head with poor retention. No real lace. Nice color.

Nose is lightly sweet and tart blueberry. Wheat and a dank funk linger in the background. Aromatic. Appetizing.

Opens lightly tart. Sweet and tart blueberry. Yeasty and tart in the middle. Finishes blueberry puree. Crisp sweet aftertaste. Simple but very enjoyable.

Light bodied with ample carbonation. Prickly and lively in the mouth and goes down bubbly and foamy. Finishes messy with a filmy, slightly lingering aftertaste. Really drinkable.

There's not a whole lot going on here but its very drinkable and quite enjoyable overall. I could definitely see this as my go to berliner.

650 mL bottle poured into a snifter.

Appearance - Very hazy with a slight pink tinge. Medium white collar.

Smell - Doesn't smell like much. Some lemony acidity.

Taste - Grainy and sour. Lemony. Faint berry fruit in the back.

Mouthfeel - Very light. Medium carbonation.

Overall - I don't get much blueberry but it's a tasty berliner.

Pours an effervescent pinkish hued orange with a pinky of pearl colored head. No head retention or lacing

S: Grassyness, a little berry tartness

T: Serious tartness, a little blueberry, some lemongrass up front. Tart blueberries, a slight touch of lemon & a hint tangerine peel as this warms, a little wheatyness there as well. Finishes with very tart blueberry, & a touch of lemon

MF: Light bodied, delicate carbonation

Super drinkability, if this wasn't so bloody expensive, I'd drink this all summer. Not 100% married to the style, but this is a damn good beer

Appearance - Beautiful color; slightly cloudy, red/purple with a tint of orange. A carbonated, white colored head with a tint of red/purple sat beautifully atop the beer. Any visible sign of carbonation/bubbles is lost due to the haze.

Aroma - Tartness is strong as expected from a Berliner Weissbier. Some blueberry flavors come through but was expecting a stronger sense of it.

Taste - Lemon tartness followed by the berry flavors. A malt breadiness can be detected in the end.

Mouthfeel - The carbonation is strong on the tip of the tongue. Tartness is felt throughout the mouth and lingers in the end for a bit.

Overall - One of my favorite styles and this beer is a great reflection of what the style should be. However, was hoping for stronger berry flavors on the taste and aroma.

Hazy pinkish hue with tons of fizzy carbonation.

Tart aroma with light blueberries. Kind of reminds me of the old blueberry new york seltzer waters.

Blueberries are light in the flavor, but it works. Lacto acidity and funky.

Light and crisp mouthfeel. Great carbonation.

A fine Berliner Weiss.

On tap at Appalachian Vintner, Asheville NC

A- pours a hazy peach color with a small rapidly vanishing head, that leaves just a ring around the edges

S- light and fruity with citrus notes and blueberry

T- light, tart and fruity, notes of peach and blueberry. Finish is astringent and bone dry, crisp wheat linger

M- light body with moderate, fizzy carbonation. Crisp and refreshing finish

O- my first of the style, very fruity and refreshing, just enough tartness to make it go down fast

On tap at Max's (from notes).

A: Looks like fresh squeezed grapefruit juice.

S: Faintly tart and floral.

T: Not too tart. Palate cleansing and not too funky.

M: Only slightly prickly.

O: I've also had it from the bottle and wasn't a big fan of either one. It's good but I wish it was more fruit forward.

Pours purple-tinged amber with a fading head.
Nose hints at acidity to follow, soft blueberry and elderflower.
Reasonably acidic flavours, but there's a fair bit of blueberry sweetness too. Stupidly drinkable stuff.
Nice high carbonation, suits the flavours well.

Murky rosy orange body, rosy pinkish toned foam. Quick finger of foam rises and settles in a couple of minutes.

Flinty minerals from the wheat, distinctive fresh blueberry aroma, very slight sweetness.

Tart blueberry taste, some crisp lactic sourness, clean finish with a little bit of residual fruit skins. Moderate carbonation, a little bit gassy. A quick swirl brings back a finger of foam right away. Minerally wheat, crisp, fruity. Blueberry is distinctive and a clear common thread from the color, to the aroma, and the taste (even the lulzy goofball label). I was sold when I saw Westbrook on the label, and this one is legit.
