What makes a great leader? First of all a perfectly balanced blend of qualities; the ability to stand out - be authoritative without overpowering. Show courage and endurance - you will lead the way and set standards. Very important; be appealing and refreshing to the people. This stereotypical portrait applies whether referring to politics, religion or maybe even this outstanding IPA.

Poured from a 12 oz. bottle into a Portsmouth brewery snifter.

The color is a bright, cloudy yellow with a light white head and some nice lacing left on the glass.

The smell is bright hops in the nose some good sweetness that reminds me of spring. There is some grassy aromas and a nice bright orange and mango aroma with smelled like there was fruit in this beer.

The flavor is biscuit dough flavor at first with a tease of citrus and a tease of pine then a smack of bitterness. There is a slight push of bitterness that takes you aback before letting of earthy pine in. Resiny citrus flavor runs deep in this beer like a vain breathing life into the back-end where more bitterness punishes briefly before letting go.

The feel of this beer is a medium which does try to be a bigger beer. The bitterness lingers a bit and makes it feel heavy but only briefly.
This beer does go down well even with a certain amount of finessing. A hop lover must try.

Movin' to the country, gonna drink a lot of hops,
I'm movin' to the country, gonna drink me a lot of hops,
Movin' to the country, gonna drink a lot of hops,
Movin' to the country, gonna drink a lot of hops.
Hops come, in a can,
They were put there by a man,
In a factory downtown.
And if I had my little way, I'd drink hops everyday,
Some suckin' bitterness in the shade.

Bottled on 4/16/13.Poured into a standard pint glass a dull lemon yellow color with just a great looking firm one finger head just doesn't dissapate, not a fan of the color but a big fan of the pillow-like head.Big citrusy hops jump out in the nose along with some pine underneath, not much malt presence except for mild toastiness. If you like grapefruit and bitterness this your kinda ipa,I love it,intesnse grapefruit juice flavors and some stickiness to go along with some lighter pine resin, again just a faint drier malt presence.I haven't had an in your face sharp hop bomb in awhile and for me this fits the bill.Excellent...in my opinion.

Fruity, Piney, Biscuity, Dry

Bright, pale gold with a mountainous foam head, this IPA from Evil Twin is fruity, grassy, bready, zesty and earthy in the nose. It’s crisp and dry with an assertive hop profile that's fruity (orange, apple, melon, pear), piney, resinous and floral with an astringent bitterness. Sweet, biscuity malts provide ample balance though, while an aspirin-like chalkiness dries things up in the finish. Aggressive, but balanced, Falco is simply delicious.

As reviewed in BeerAdvocate magazine #105 (October 2015).

16 oz can. Pours clear gold with some very fine floaties and a big frothy white head that retains well and laces the glass.

The aroma is sweet sugary bready malt with some funky fruit.

The flavor is sweet sugary bready crystal malt with ripe fruit and a big grassy bitterness. The mouthfeel is medium bodied with low carbonation.

Overall, very sweet, sugary, under-attenuated and a bit worty with some fruit and grassy hops in the background.

A: hazy gold, big 2” pure white rocky foam collar that produces ledges of lace.
S: some earthy notes on the nose, citrus, light grass.
T: Some light biscuit. Initial palate has some sweet fruit and then by mid-palate it balances with the hop and it simultaneously dries out and becomes juicy.
F: Very creamy, bone dry and fairly light body for an IPA. Carbonation is very soft, moderately low
O: Refreshing, drinkable, well rounded and well balanced. The level of bitterness is similar to what you would find in a gin and tonic.
