Like the smell, a juicy and floral hop driven taste with nice notes of citrus and grassy hops. Citrus fruit notes of orange, lemon, grapefruit, pineapple, and melon. Floral hop notes along with some earthy notes of grass and pine. Soft bready malt notes of cracker, biscuit, and yeast as well as a little honey sweetness. A pretty nice taste. (342 characters)

I'd not seen this one until tonight's visit to The Ginger Man. Beers here vary by the day sometimes! According to the barkeep, they just got it in yesterday.
Evil Twin Falco IPA is an excellent, well rounded beer. Faint haze when held to the light, strong citrus and especially grapefruit and just a tang of pine resin, very nice. Not quite like my memories of chewing on that #2 cedar pencil when I was a kid, but made me smile nonetheless.
Fruity-ish but bitter all the way though. Excellent nose. Effervescent but not overly carbonated. Continue to emit streams of bubbles even after several minutes.
Lacy white head, slowly diminishes but still hanging around after 5 minutes of drinking.
Will have to make a trip to Connecticut - didn't know that there was such an excellent beer! Kudos! (795 characters)

Such an excellent beer. Lordy Poured this a touch warm, but that hurt it not. Has a large, foamy, frothy, sudsy, off-white head that settled to a thin, spotty cover after a bit and lots of lace. Color is a very slightly hazy pale gold yellow with some tiny bubble trails. Aroma is very aromatic, was apparent upon bottle opening, is more resin than grapefruit with enough malt to balance and round it out. Flavor's like nose, has just enough sweetness to temper the heady bitterness. Body/carbonation are great plus it has some chewiness that I really like. Finish is like flavor, stays true all the way slowly tapers. Killer beer.. (632 characters)

A: hazy gold, big 2” pure white rocky foam collar that produces ledges of lace.
S: some earthy notes on the nose, citrus, light grass.
T: Some light biscuit. Initial palate has some sweet fruit and then by mid-palate it balances with the hop and it simultaneously dries out and becomes juicy.
F: Very creamy, bone dry and fairly light body for an IPA. Carbonation is very soft, moderately low
O: Refreshing, drinkable, well rounded and well balanced. The level of bitterness is similar to what you would find in a gin and tonic. (534 characters)

12 oz. bottle. Really nice. Mosaic hops to finish?

Pours pale gold, slight haze and small particulate. Hop material? Aroma is juicy pale malts, very fruity, some currant/cat pee, but not like Victory Mosaic Promise, which comes across as very catty. Good dose of citrus bouquet, not cry good, but time may have taken a toll, bottling mark is 227:14 09:04 Soft carbonation quick, simple sweetness at first, sweetness turns to supple malt character, cookie like, was this beer decocted? medium light body, velvety. medium finish, spice of hops remains on the tongue and out breath.

I'd defiantly drink a couple... (613 characters)

Cloudy yellowish hue, 1 finger bone white head that reduces to a permanent cap in a few minutes, lots & lots of tiny bubbles, impressive lacing.

Grapefruit, pineapple & pine needles greet your nostrils, hop forward, malt practically nonexistent.

Falco delivers a tasty & crisp grapefruit/pineapple/pine blast. Absolutely hop forward in a citrus manner, good bitterness & aftertaste, nice dry finish.

Mouthfeel is medium, prickly carbonation, smooth easy drinking IPA that hides the alcohol very nicely.

An under the radar IPA that deserves much more attention & higher ratings. Falco is not inexpensive @ $10.99/4 pack, yet it has a lot going for it if you prefer hops over malt with a dry, crisp finish. Highly recommended and a pleasant surprise. (750 characters)

beautiful poor from the bottle to a pint glass, let sit 5 mins out of fridge before opening. the head was a nice off white and about 1.5 inches think, good retention and now has some nice lacing around the top of the liquid.

smells like a killer ipa, pine and resin, with a hint of citrus.

taste is very hoppy upfront, but not over powering, very balanced pine, resin, and citrus peel.

pleasantly carbonated and very light feeling on the tongue. it is coarse but very mildly so.

overall this is a great beer. i'm surprised it doesn't have a higher rating. this was was bought at beirkraft in brooklyn and is from the newer evil twin brewery in ct. i will definitely be getting this again. (693 characters)

Pours a semi-hazed effervescent bronze with 2 fingers of pearl white head. Sheets of lacing & great head retention

S: Grassyness & grapefruit, floral hops, pineapple & bready notes, plus tobacco notes & a little pine

T: Follows the nose, a touch of pear as well up front. Intense grapefruit, orange peel, pears, & leafy hops as this warms. Finishes with earthy hops, pineyness & orange peel bitter, a whisper of caramel & leafy hops

MF: Medium bodied, slight carbonation, good balance

Drinks easy, good effort from these guys. Slightly over-priced, but well worth a go. This vastly exceeded my expectations (610 characters)

Had on tap at Avenue Pub New Orleans. Served in a cask glass.

A- Pours a medium golden color with a 1/4 inch head that retains well before becoming a thick ring around the edge of the glass and a full sheet of surface foam. Resilient lacing cascades slowly down the glass.

S- Nice blend of pine/citrus with the earthiness actually pretty toned down for an Evil Twin IPA.

T- Assertively bitter with some trailing fruitiness from the hops. The bitterness lingers good and long without letting up much. This is a good thing though since the hop flavors are pronounced enough to not make it a full-on alpha acid bomb. Smooth for the ABV. There is a faint metallic bite due to the extreme bitterness but is easily overlooked.

M- Again, bitey and sharp with not much restraint but nice all the same. Medium carbonation and a lighter body.

O- Quite satisfied from this Evil Twin offering. It is on that borderline of being too bitter but walks the line well. (957 characters)

Bottled on 4/16/13.Poured into a standard pint glass a dull lemon yellow color with just a great looking firm one finger head just doesn't dissapate, not a fan of the color but a big fan of the pillow-like head.Big citrusy hops jump out in the nose along with some pine underneath, not much malt presence except for mild toastiness. If you like grapefruit and bitterness this your kinda ipa,I love it,intesnse grapefruit juice flavors and some stickiness to go along with some lighter pine resin, again just a faint drier malt presence.I haven't had an in your face sharp hop bomb in awhile and for me this fits the bill.Excellent...in my opinion. (643 characters)

Evil Twin Brewing - Falco IPA, poured into a DFH Spiegelau IPA glass.

Look - Pours a semi-cloudy yellow with a hint of amber and a soapy head that dissipates quick but retains some. Some lacing. Not the prettiest but I ate my words later on in the review.

Smell - Faint fruit hop aroma of pineapple/passion fruitish with some slight sweet malt. Aroma is generally light, at this point I was a bit concerned.

Taste - Hope hoppy citrus and pine blast here that I wasn't expecting and it was quite impressive. Zero malt influence here, nice and dry.

Mouthfeel - More light than medium. Dry and drinkable. Nice carbonated snap. Booziness is invisible.

Overall - From the appearance and aroma I was not excited but when it actually hit my lips I became a believer in this brew. Would recommend and would drink this one again for sure. (834 characters)

12oz bottle poured into a shaker pint.

Appearance
Cloudy straw with 1 finger of white head that dissipates quickly. Low carbonation.

Nose
Papaya, pineapple, mango and candy sugar.

Taste
Papaya, mango and pineapple. Thin candy sugar backbone with notes of honey. Some piney bitterness on the back end.

Mouthfeel
Medium bodied, crisp, clean and slightly dry.

Overall
Yeah, this is good stuff. At 7% this miraculously tastes like a session IPA around 4.5%. Reminds me of Daisy Cutter. Excellent job! (501 characters)

This poured out as a hazy yellow color with a soapy white head on top. The retention on this is really quite good as well as the lacing, it's a really nice looking beer. The smell of the is zesty with some hoppy citrus aromas on the nose. The taste is refreshing and floral, citrusy and crisp. The mouthfeel is light bodied and refreshing. Overall I think this a is a really damn good IPA. I may be picking up more of this. (423 characters)

On tap at Joe Bean Coffee Roasters in Rochester, NY.

Pours a hazy yellow/orange, with a half inch head, and some, but not much, lacing down the glass.

Smells like grapefruit, orange, and pineapple.

The taste is similar. Really fresh and refreshing hoppy taste here. Not much malt to speak of, lots of juicy fruit flavors, and some nice, subtle, but lingering bitterness. The fruit flavors I'm getting from the hops are mostly orange and lemon.

Light to medium bodied, crisp mouthfeel, medium carbonation.

Was surprised, this one tasted really fresh and nice. (563 characters)

4-pk from CBX. 12oz bottle into a 0.5L mug...

A: light, golden-orange; slight haze; one finger of white head leaves a few strands / sheets of lace; lighter than a lot of IPAs - looks nice.

S: orange peel; bright citrus notes; cracker / wheat maltiness; nice light, bright aroma!

T: orange pulp; peach concentrate / syrup; hints of light malt; very light pine notes, too.

M: medium feel; moderate carbonation; impressive bitterness is a tonsil pucker-er.

O: a really nice change of pace IPA... light color, yet zesty hops, refreshing, bitter finish. A great spring / summer IPA. Falconers Flight - pretty interesting hop variety. (633 characters)

Poured from a 16 oz. can into a chalice.

Appearance: Pours a slightly hazy golden orange with a moderate amount of bubbles. Big three finger white head with decent retention. Leaves a lot of clingy lacing.

Smell: A floral and earthy hop forward aroma with hints of citrus and grass. Citrus hop hints of orange, grapefruit, lemon zest, pineapple, and melon. Floral and earthy hops with some hints of grass and pine. Soft pale malt hints of biscuit, cracker, and yeast. Also some honey like sweet hints. A pretty solid smell.

Taste: Like the smell, a juicy and floral hop driven taste with nice notes of citrus and grassy hops. Citrus fruit notes of orange, lemon, grapefruit, pineapple, and melon. Floral hop notes along with some earthy notes of grass and pine. Soft bready malt notes of cracker, biscuit, and yeast as well as a little honey sweetness. A pretty nice taste.

Mouthfeel: Medium bodied with a moderate amount of carbonation. Crisp, juicy, and very smooth.

Overall: A pretty solid take on an IPA. Good earthy and citrus hop flavors with a clean smooth body. (1,079 characters)

Pour from the bottle into an IPA appropriate glass. Frothy white head that lasted thru out the consumption of the beer, with excellent lacing. The body is a cloudy, golden color. Enticing but mild piney aroma, this brew clocks in at 7% abv. The first sip yields wonderful grapefruit and pineapple flavors, followed by a modest amount of bitterness. Deeelicious! (362 characters)

A cloudy yellow/orange in color with a finger of head, decent amount of lacing. Smells citrusy - lots of grapefruit and pine with a bit of mango and caramel. Flavor profile is bitter up front with a citrusy sweet grapefruit/pineapple profile immediately following.. Bready backbone is muted instantly and a bitter pine hop lingers.
Medium in body with medium carbonation.
This is a very easy to drink ipa with a very appealing hop profile for both an experienced and new palate. (478 characters)

Pours cloudy, shiny golden, with floating bits and a small white head that lingers.
Smells nice, grapefruit, tangerine, peach, papaya, mango, faint floral notes, so pretty decent on the hop side. Add some caramel and biscuity malts, and it might trick you into thinking this is very sweet.
The first seconds after sipping it might also do that. Fruit jam, especially orange and peach, pineapple syrup. Green bitter hops "counterattack", with lots of pine, hop resin, bitter grass, very "dank". Pale malt backbone, a tiny bit biscuity. Aftertaste doesn't suffer from the big bitter flash, that leaves quite some fruitiness along with all the big green notes.
Medium body and carbonation, well hidden alcohol.
Felt like a great by-the-book American IPA, very strong with the hops but also not overpowering, tasty. (811 characters)

Picked this up at Emerald Island, NC. This is only my 3rd ever experience from Evil Twin.

12 oz brown bottle with a label that suits my style perfect. It's actually the reason I even bought this. The label is bright yet soft with an awesome looking falcon like bird equipping the front. Poured 1 and half of another into one of my nonic pint glasses.

A - light golden and bright. Fitting color for summer. Slight bit of haze but still some clarity to it. Nothing crazy just some slight cloudiness. Pure white head pours massive and stays throughout finally clumping into a thick ring of puffy lace. The stick this leaves isn't out of this world but its good stick to the glass nonetheless. A really great looking ipa.

S - grapefruit and citrusy. Small whiff of lemon and a little bigger waft of orange peel. Pine resin and hop oily aroma. The malt notes are a bit cracker like. Overall aroma is pretty floral with some paler like Malts.

T - wow. Different but excellent. Very floral and pine resin. Not as oily as the nose. More citric than fruity with a touch of lemon zest and orange peel. The paler style malts go well with the hops that were used. Nothing overly in your face bitterness but there is a light bitterness in the crisp finish.

M - medium bodied and refreshing. Clean and crisp mouthfeel while keeping the texture thick enough to want me coming back for that next sip. Not overly thick, but I'd say the perfect thickness for a warm weather ipa as it is hot as hell this time of year. Enjoyable and very refreshing. I'd drink this again no question about it.

O - I'm not tap familiar with Scandinavian brewers like Evil Twin. I know some are gypsy where they brew all over the place and this does say brewed in CT, so I'm assuming since its not a collaboration that evil twin are one of those gypsy craft breweries. Doesn't really matter to me. This is a very very good ipa with some solid characteristics and definitely worth the experience. I wish I'd bought a few more of these. Great hot weather ipa that's actually pretty well balanced and I'm not always for the knock you in the teeth hop forward approach. Falco is very well crafted and very enjoyable. It's one of those I'm just glad I ran across. Lovely stuff (2,240 characters)

S - Grapefruit, citrus and pine.
T - Similar as the smell with grapefruit up front. Pineapple and citrus fruit. Pine is mixed in as well.

A: light yellow with cloudy sediment. The head has light lacing, and it recedes quickly.

S: citrus (grapefruit mostly, or mango, even) and some pine. The piney aromatics of the hops are spicy or resiny pine scents.

T: what starts as a grapefruit, citrus taste gives way fairly quickly to a bitter and spicy piney hop finish.

M: medium body, with a moderate carbonation to it. The finish is on the dry side.

O: a well constructed IPA, and a refreshing drink for a hot day. (477 characters)

Pours a clear, straw color, with a pretty weak head. Still, a fine looking beer. The aroma is nice fruity hops. There's definitely some pineapple and some other fruit that i can't quite identify. nor overpowering at all, but very nice. The taste is basically the same. It makes you think it's going to be bitter somehow, without ever getting there. Very tasty for a straight-up IPA. Overall, a really nice IPA for a hot, summer day. I would definitely drink again. (464 characters)

Pours a very light blonde with a two-finger head that went as soon as it came. Pale for pale's sake.

Crisp and a mix of citrus/pine in nose. I just realized that EvilTwin is brewed in CT. I had always thought that it was from Norway or Denmark since it's always grouped in with those beers at the packy.

Very pilsner-like both in hop and malt profile. Could also be a hoppier kolsch. Either way, the light body helps the hops shine out better.

Finishes clean with a great hop bite and buttery finish.

This can't be an IPA, unless it's a variation that uses pilsner malt. Regardless of what it uses, it tastes great and is worth purchasing! (643 characters)
