12fl oz
A: golden honey; opaque
S: full and intense; pine, hay, grapefruit. Very little maltiness. Not overly complex.
T: not much at the start but then builds to a full, rich nicely balanced flavour (little maltiness) with a grapefruit pith bitterness.Interesting that the bitterness is really only noticed at the end.
M: very full bodied
O: Without that line of bitterness from the beginning and the soft full-bodied taste I think this would be best on its own instead of with food. A pretty mellow IPA.

on tap the famed three penny taproom in Montpelier Vermont. the pour on this is a light honey hazy orange color, with a whole lot of lasting white head as thick as whipped cream. I smell an ipa, but there is something distinctly floral to it, fresh and bright, and I find myself drawn to it like a bee, instinctively. its bright and summery, but without sacrificing the necessary bitterness for the style. the grain bill is simple and straightforward, medium bodied, a little bland, but leaving plenty of room for the interesting hops to rock and roll. fine carbonation has soda like force, but it sits well in my stomach, and hardly feels like 7% abv as I session this. perfect pairing with a rare cheeseburger and pungent arugula salad. evil twin beers are getting easier to find, which is great news, because I am yet to find one I don't love. falco is a treat, distinct in a crowded genre.

Pours a pale yellow. Good head/lacing.

Smell is creamy- creme brulee, melons. Honey, honeydew, toffee apple. Quite a bit of ethanol which is disappointing for a beer of only 7% ABV. Little bit of plastic.

Taste is more melons- quite strong, chemical bitterness, iso-hop-py.

Mouthfeel simply has too much chemical bitterness.

Not a good beer. Limited hop aromatics, too much ethanol, too much raw unpleasant hopping on the palate.

A - Pours a light/bright yellow with a nice finger of volumnous white head, good retention, fantastic lacing.

S - Lots of lemon, grapefruit, honey, piney, yeast - very refreshing smelling.

T - Really nice dry bitter, lemon/honey, grapefruit, decently spiced, initially. Definitely a wallop of pine at the finish. Aftertaste is bitter- dry and honey sweet.

M - Really refreshing, quite light, decently carbonated.

O - Really tasty, light, dry, flavorful and incredibly refreshing.

look: 2.75 | smell: 3.75 | taste: 4.25 | feel: 3.75 | overall: 4

Appearance: A very blond IPA, it’s a light golden color…head started thin and has quickly dissipated to a wispy nothing…it doesn’t even really liven up with a swirl…light for an IPA…(2.75/5)

Smell: Very light…yeast, lemon zest, honey, pine resin bitterness…malts have a light pale/earthy presence…the more I smell it, the more I get the light, refreshing citrus bitterness that I really like…as it warms, the piney sensation brings more of a bite and becomes the dominate aroma…nice…(3.75/5)

Taste: Yum! A really rich hop flavor happening here…piney resin galore, with a strong flavor of light pale malts…the hops profile is something that I’ve had (or close to) but the pale pale malts are a different twist that I really like…it’s rich and robust with a drinkability of a pale ale…I wouldn’t call this a white per se, I’m not getting that full yeasty flavor, but it’s one of the lighter IPA’s I’ve ever had…really good, a great twist on an overdone category…(4.25/5)

Mouthfeel: Light body, very light…carbonation is medium, fluff brings a grassy bitterness to the palate…the back and sides of my tongue are tingling, very bitter! There’s a malty bitterness lingering in the after taste…very balanced brew…(3.75/5)

Overall: This is a great brew…I was expecting something more Belgiany in flavor but this is not that…it’s got tons of hops and bitterness but is backed by a very drinkable malt profile that brings something totally different from what breweries are typically doing…this was a splurge purchase, at $3.75 a 12 ounce bottle, but it turned out totally worth it…I highly recommend giving this one a try if you’re a hop head like me or just like branching out to new things…I’m searching this one out again…(4/5)

Evil Twin Brewing - Falco IPA, poured into a DFH Spiegelau IPA glass.

Look - Pours a semi-cloudy yellow with a hint of amber and a soapy head that dissipates quick but retains some. Some lacing. Not the prettiest but I ate my words later on in the review.

Smell - Faint fruit hop aroma of pineapple/passion fruitish with some slight sweet malt. Aroma is generally light, at this point I was a bit concerned.

Taste - Hope hoppy citrus and pine blast here that I wasn't expecting and it was quite impressive. Zero malt influence here, nice and dry.

Mouthfeel - More light than medium. Dry and drinkable. Nice carbonated snap. Booziness is invisible.

Overall - From the appearance and aroma I was not excited but when it actually hit my lips I became a believer in this brew. Would recommend and would drink this one again for sure.

A: The beer is hazy yellow in color and has a light amount of visible carbonation. It poured with a half finger high bright white head that gradually died down, leaving a thin layer of bubbles covering the surface, a thin collar around the edge of the glass and some lacing down the sides.
S: Moderately strong aromas of grapefruit hops are present in the nose along with some hints of pine resin.
T: Flavors of citrusy hops—grapefruit and orange zest stand out in particular—dominate the taste and also contribute a moderate amount of bitterness. The citrusy flavors linger through the finish.
M: It feels medium-bodied and somewhat crisp on the palate with a moderate amount of visible carbonation.
O: This IPA was quite enjoyable and packed in a lot of flavors of grapefruit hops.

A: Pours a hazy light to medium yellow in color with moderate to heavy amounts of visible carbonation and some lemon + golden yellow highlights. The beer has a three finger tall sudsy dense foamy white head that slowly reduces to a two finger tall medium sized cap in the center of the beer with a thick film surrounding it and a thick ring at the edges of the glass. Significant amounts of lacing are observed.

S: Moderate aromas of citrus hops (specifically I detect grapefruit, orange, and lemon) over some light pale and biscuit malts.

T: Upfront there are light to moderate flavors of pale and biscuit malts with just a hint of sweetness. That is followed by moderate flavors of citrus/grapefruit, citrus/orange, and citrus/lemon hops in descending order of strength. Light to moderate amounts of bitterness that fades pretty quickly.

M: On the lighter side of medium bodied with moderate amounts of carbonation. Slightly crisp with hints of dryness in the finish.

O: Easy to drink and the alcohol is well hidden - very enjoyable and one I would gladly have multiple of in a session. I thought the hop flavors and aromas were excellent and this is a real nice beer.
