Pours hazy bright yellow color with a 2 finger foamy white head that was full of very tiny bubbles, it faded very slowly leaving great foamy lacing and rings as it went down and a layer on top. The head was so thick that craters formed as it went down, and the second half of the bomber had a much bigger head and was a lot cloudier. Very impressive beer.
Smells of strong lemon zest up front, which I assume is the yuzu, followed by orange peel, tangerine, red grapefruit, piney hops, citrus hops, faint spices, and light yeast. Completely lopsided aroma that is all citrus fruit with lemon being particularly strong smelling.
Tastes of lemon, grapefruit pith, orange peel, tangerine, citrus hops, coriander, piney hops, apple, fruity candy (the dry crunch kind…), light grains, spices like pepper or very dry tea, dry grass and earthy notes. There is a chalky yeast flavor, like very dry toast that lingers with the lemon/yuzu in the aftertaste, and the finish is on the dry and clean side.
Mouthfeel is smooth and almost slick, with average carbonation, a medium body that was almost chewy and a very bitter grapefruit/lemon-like finish that is near dry and was like licking on a lemon.
Overall it was a good IPA that was slightly too bitter for my taste and liking, but the yuzu experiment works and makes for a very different IPA. There is no balance, but the flavor is full of citrus with just enough grainy flavor to keep the bitterness at a manageable level. I liked the Femme Fatale Brett better, but this was a nice refreshing IPA that had a nice zesty bitter bite.

Poured from the bottle into a Spiegelau IPA glass.
A nice apricot orange to peach color for the body, slightly cloudy, with some rising fast carbonation. Head is soapy with a touch of cream, and some real interesting puck formation and retention. Peaks and valleys and a giant mountain of white creamy in the middle four finger tall head, surrounded by soapy moats of lacing.
Real interesting notes on the nose. Hints of pepper and fruit, seems tropical. Real interesting smokey like embers coming off of this too, kind of wood and splintery strangely. Bit of earthy quality too, an interesting mix of stuff in there.
Weird palate. With all this diversity on the nose, you'd think it would be interesting. Mid palate fills with a chalky and solid hop bitterness, hinting at dried pine needles. Simple malted mouth coating, but not much fruit quality or flavor. Brett action seems quite subdued and hardly noticeable at all
Overall an interesting take, but it comes off as just another ordinary IPA.
