Appearance: Pours an obsidian color with a creamy but modest tan head that leaves a nice pattern of lace
Smell: Charcoal and chocolate, with undertones of lactose
Taste: Ashy chocolate, up front, with a bitter and oddly tart character that develops in the middle; after the swallow, the lactose appears, adding a bit of cream and marshmallow
Mouthfeel: Medium body with moderate carbonation
Overall: The tart flavor makes for a rather odd addition here; suffers from a lack of a milk chocolate character
Thanks, BeerHunter76, for the opportunity

On tap at the Whip In during the RateBeer Winter Gathering.
The beer pours a dark brown to black color with a beige head. The aroma is very full with a lot of chocolate and roasted malt notes. There is also some sweetness which I guess is from the lactose. The flavor is more of the same. I get a lot of chocolate and roasted malt, along with a touch of coffee. The beer is fairly sweet overall. Medium, creamy mouthfeel and medium carbonation. A very nice milk stout.

Friend brought this back for me from Texas. 12oz bottle into a pint flass.
Pours a .5 finger fine, mocha colored head that dissipates quickly. Beer is pitch black but pretty thin. Lacing is non-existent. Pretty pedestrian.
Nose is heavy on the lactose. Sweet and creamy with some coca cola, roasted malt, and chocolate to round out the flavors. Moderately aromatic and pretty typical. But good.
Opens chocolate milk and cocoa. Waves and waves of lactose sugar smooth out the experience and give a nice, malt backbone. Very creamy. Some coke and roasted malt bitterness right at the end. Finishes with a nutty bitterness. Aftertaste is sweet. Pretty enjoyable.
Light bodied with moderate carbonation. Smooth and silky in the mouth and goes down with just the slightest bit of bubbles. Finishes coarse with a lingering, filmy aftertaste. Pretty good for the style.
This is a pretty good beer. The lactose presence is very big and even though its pretty one-dimensional, the chocolate, roast, and lactose sweetness are all well integrated. Would drink again!

Poured from a 12 oz bottle into a snifter.
A: Black. Pours a 1 finger, brown head. Settles slowly. Spotty lacing.
S: Charred grains, licorice, and dark chocolate.
T: Charred grains and coffee are prominent. A little raisin.
M: Thick and heavy. Grainy on the front, slight hint of synthetic sweetness lingers in the finish.
D: Sip and savor.
Atmosphere is pretty good. Nice head but no real lacing. Nose is characteristic of the style... roasted malt, licorice, and chocolate. Charred grains and coffee in the flavor. Overall, this is a pretty good quaff.
