Shared 22 oz bottle.
Unfiltered cloudy amber.
Large durable head
Smooth with a slight harshness, but quite mild for 10% ABV and the heavy hop load.
Herbal citrus hops. Hints of honey. Slightly boozy.

22oz bottle poured into a snifter. Bottled Jan 7th 2014.

A: Pours a hazy amber with a mild white head on top. A bit too opaque to see any visible carbonation. Leaves some spots of lacing on the glass.

S: Very nice hop aroma on this one, pleasant citrus and piney notes

T: As with the aroma this one hits you with a wall of hops. Real nice fruity aspect to them that takes front stage over the bitterness.

M: Medium body with mild carbonation. Has a good nectar like quality that I appreciate in IPA's. Very easy drinking for the ABV.

Overall this is a tasty triple IPA where the fruitiness and flavor of the hop outweighs the bitterness in the flavor. Dont get me wrong there is still a good dose of bitters, just a great flavor that keeps up with it.

On tap at Homegrown Tre at Lovin' Cup in Rochester, NY, then later a full bottle bought at AJ's Beer Warehouse. The ratings concern the bottle.

Pours a hazy, cloudy, amber color, almost opaque actually. 2 inches of head, and good lacing sticks to the glass.

A piney, grapefruity hop blast in the aroma. Just a big ol' 747 of hops here.

The taste is great, but not quite as good as the appearance or aroma. The aforementioned citrusy grapefruit and dank pine is there, but there is also some oniony flavors that I don't love. Astoundingly bitter, as I'd expect from a Triple IPA, with fairly noticeable alcohol. This one is turned up to 11. As I near the 22 oz mark on this solo bomber journey, it becomes a bit of a struggle.

Medium bodied, sticky, resinous mouthfeel. Drinkable for the first 12 oz or so, then the bitterness and the alcohol slow you the hell down and make this a bit of a chore.

The Kind and Too Kind are definitely better than this one. The most extreme beer Three Heads has produced- tastes good, but is a bit too much.

appearance: hazy orange peach. nice white head with messy lacing.
smell: juicy fruit and some piney hops.
taste: Drier than expected. a little sweet fruit but mostly dry. Bitter, shallow finish.
overall: Nice excess. Loads of hops as advertised. Not a top tier DIPA (or TIPA, whatever) but nice enough.

22oz bottle from Green's (Atlanta, GA). 6.49. No dicernable bottling date. Served in a goblet.

Pours a cloudy, opaque, muted orange with a finger and a half of cream head. The froth lingers with an attractive layer that laces quite well.

Dank aromas of mild garlic, onion, citrus pulp, grapefruit rind and wet hay. Not bad at all but overall it comes across as fairly subdued for an IPA with triple the hops.

Flavors follow the nose but less dank and a little more earthy/ floral. Earthy flower petals, citrus pulp, soft but notable garlic, damp grass, green onion, hay, cracker, faint peppery spice, vague hint of mint and a decent dollop of alcohol. Pretty good albeit different mix of hop flavors but it doesn't really "pop".

Oily, slick, resinous feel that gives the body significant heft as it settles on the tongue. Long, softly bitter aftertaste of dank hops, damp hay, lemon zest and traces of bready malt.

Overall this is a decent imperial IPA. Without a bottling date I can't be sure if this is truly what the brewer intended but it seems to lack a certain brightness that I'd prefer. I don't lament the purchase at all and didn't have difficulty downing the bomber on my own but this isn't an IPA experience that I'll be looking to repeat or be recommending to friends.

Given as a gift, April 2014. Poured into a large glass tumbler at fridge temp.

appearance: apple juice pale amber with a thick white head, nice lacing.

smell: peaches in syrup, papaya.

taste: juicy fruit, lychee maybe? very simple. Bitterness takes a long while to build.

mouthfeel: yes.

overall: not sure what is going on here. A minimalist IPA. Simple to the extreme.
