Part of a sampler served at the brewery - it's a 6.5% IPA. It poured with a dark red color, some lacing and a thin head. It had a strong hops smell and even stronger hops taste to try to cover that added alcohol content, but somewhat unsuccessfully, as you could still taste alcohol quite well. The aftertaste was quite acidic and a bit like vinegar - all of this kind of decreased the drinkability.

This is one of well made beers that simply cannot get the credit that it is due. A flawless IPA made at a small restaurant and brew pub in Santa Fe, NM. Second time I have had it in the past 12 months. It is as good this time as last.

A - Light amber color with good clarity.

S - Good strong hoppy nose - pine and citrus.

T - Flavor is very bright and fresh. This is why I like finding fresh local IPAs. Taste follows the nose piney and citrus. Excellant bright hops flavors with plenty malt depth to make it interesting.

M - Mouthfeel is light to medium for the style. Refreshing.

O - An excellant IPA. I would drink this regularly if I could get it. It is excellant. If you are in Santa Fe, you have to try this beer. All-in-all It's a really good restaurant, but this beer makes it great. I hope they continue to produce this beer to this degree of quality. I will make it my regular stop.

This had a thin, bone-white head with low retention upon arrival. The color was a lightly hazy medium amber. Nose was splendidly hoppy with a lot of citrus notes. The mouthfeel was medium with a lot of hops in the mouth and on the tongue. I was told that a combination of Columbus, Centennial, and Cascade hops had been used in dry-hopping this beer. The finish had a lingering hop bite. More, please!

Taken from notes that I almost forgot I had:

On-tap at the Blue Corn Cafe in Santa Fe, New Mexico.

A- Amber color with a small head that does not stick around too long, and leaves ok lacing.

S- Smells of citrusy and piney hops, just like an IPA should.

T- Tastes of citrusy and piney hops. Well-balanced.

M- Just right for the style.

D- A very drinkable and decent IPA. I wouldn't mind frequenting this bar if I lived here, and this would be my beer of choice.

Enjoyed from the tap (with a green chile burger) on a recent visit to Santa Fe.

Appearance - Amber with almost no head.

Smell - mild hops (pine, spice).

Taste - really nice citrus and pine. More flavorful than one would expect from the smell. Well-balanced.

Mouthfeel - light.

Drinkability - Good example of a locally-produced IPA. You can tell the brewers are concerned with quality instead of mass production. I would recommend this to friends while they're in the area; and the green chile burger, as well.

I had the good fortunte to try this one on tap at both blue corn locations in Santa Fe. Both times I was presented with a nice slightly cloudy light amber brew with a small head of eggshell whtie foam. Aromas of hops, but not too intense and an interesting blend. The taset is hoppy but the malts kinda dominate the backend and make this one stand up with an excellent medium bodied mouthfeel. All of these elements combine to lend this one a great drinkability. Especially with "christmas style" enchiladas

After a long, wet, and cold day of hiking, I was in the mood for a hop fix. Does this deliver? Absolutely!

a: This was a slightly cloudy, golden copper color. It was served to me with a whisp of white froth. I have to give these guys credit, this wasn't served ice-cold. It was the perfect drinking temperature as soon as it got to the table,

s: Lemony grassy hops and some caramel malts to provide just enough balance.

t: Fresh, lemony and faintly garlicy hops up front. The finish was a little too astringently sweet.

m: A nice, oily body and excellent carbonation.

d: This was almost exactly what I hoped it would be.
