The dark color is very attractive. Expected the most intense caramel and dried fruit aroma. But the first sip was a blast. The beverage has the right bitterness to balance the flavors. The chile and chocolate flavor is perceived. And the recommended pairing is great. Drink this beer with a plate of mole with turkey or a cut of meat (preferably lean) is highly recommended.

Feel is a little thin for an imperial stout but the smell and taste can compare to other good RIS's. Found this in a grocery store in Cancun for 2.50!

Coal black pour with a nice tan one-finger head. Aroma of roasted malt, chocolate and light pepper. Taste is chocolatey upfront with a bit of dark roast coffee also standing out. Slight touch of pepper heat in the finish. Medium to light bodied.

cerveza de aurora. 355ml bottle served in pint glass. 9% abv and 65 ibu. oil slick black, no head. medium roast coffee aroma. thin, oily mouthfeel. easy drinking but boozy. oaky flavors meet a distinctive coffee tone in the back of the palate. raisins and figs join in as well. lots of flavor here, as a RIS (or MIS) should have. but it's all back-loaded, like an anti-IPA. delicious but flawed. alas, i'm unlikely to have to decide if i want to try this again.

12oz bottle served at Club de la Cerveza in Playa del Carmen. Served into a pint glass. Pours a dark black body, brown hued head with good retention, no lacing. Smells of rich deep cocoa, milk chocolate, a bit of vegetal pepperiness, a bit of espresso as well. Flavour is a solid milk chocolate up front, followed by cocoa, and on the finish there is a bit of peppery spicy heat, which is enjoyable. Mouthfeel is lighter bodied, good carbonation, smooth and silky. Not a bad representation of Mexican chocolate, although I'd have liked to have some cinnamon there too.

Dark brown hue, nearing black with red tint along the edges. Very little ring of off white colored head, actually a pretty nice looking beer. Aroma consists of heavy roasted malts, and hints of leather and dark chocolate. Very light cinnamon scent but definitely in the background. Taste is some chocolate, hints of licorice and tabacco. No chilli or pepper whatsoever. For a stout brewed with peppers a pretty big disappointment. Tastes like a pretty one dimensional stout to me.
