Clean, clear pale gold body, and short-lived white foam. Has a light malt aroma; corn and cereals, odd rubbery note, cardboard, hint of alcohol and floral hop? Medium bodied, dry texture, and a spritzy carbonation. Gritty malt body, bread, cardboard, hint of hop and light fruits. Fairly bland and grainy. Drinkable, but rather boring.

Appearance This one is a solid yellow in color with a big, full, beautiful head that hugged the inside of my Cottonwood glass.
Smell There are a lot of hops to this nose. I mean, this is almost like a Pilsner with all of the grassy, Nobel hops. The grain backbone is light.
Taste Boy, this fella really falls apart at the taste. The grain is much bigger but it is so rough. The hops are all but gone. This beer has a nasty malty aftertaste that makes you want to eat an Altoid.
Mouthfeel This is light to medium-bodied. The body has that good lagered smoothness to it.
Sinkability This one had a lot of the components of a good European lager, but the flavor just did it in.

Thanks to bu11zeye for sharing this bottle.
The beer pours a yellow color with a white head. The aroma is citrus with some grain. The flavor is corn, grain and lemons. Medium mouthfeel and medium carbonation. Not much going on with this beer. While there is nothing wrong with the beer and it is not hard to drink, there is really nothing about it that makes me want to try it again.

This is my mid-week websurfing brew.
My bottle says Zamkowe EXTRA. At 7.0% is it a EPL or ESL?
Poured with a nice big head that settled to a ring but left a fine lace about the glass.
Has a mildly grainy aroma..Not much here.
Taste is sweet, crisp grainy malt with a biting carbonation, medium bodied with a dry, sweet finish. A little alcohol zip at the end.
Light enough for a hot day yet strong enough to make you forget the heat. Pretty good.

A fresh sample from the importer in the 330 ml bottle. It pours a crystal clear yellow-gold body with a foamy bright-white head that drops shortly but maintains a thin surface covering and leaves some nice lace. The nose is limited to some dull maltiness and mild background hops... quite the "generic beer" aroma! The body is light/medium, and it couples with a fine, median carbonation to leave it crisp on the tongue. The flavor is clean and crisp; displaying a thin malt that's obviously laden with adjunct but backed by a solid bitterness and a thread of inter-woven, non-descript hop flavor. It finishes dry with a short lingering note of residual malt. It's interesting that it's not sweet like so many stronger Polish lagers; but it lacks character. It's very much like a basic American macro-lager, but not as clean. It's very easy to drink, but it doesn't offer enough character to make you want another.

Not sure which Zamkowe beer I have as my bottle looks nothing like the photos posted. Has an Est. 1321 and in small print on the bottle it says "Piwo Jasne Pelne" which I believe means real ale. After smelling and tasting the beer I would describe it as a German Pilsner.
Pours a light golden color with a large white head that lasted awhile. It eventually settles to a thick cap and some spotty lacing is left on the glass during consumption.
Very distinct Noble hop aroma, black pepper and an earthy quality.
Nice spicy hop flavor blends well with the light malt. Also has a slightly citrus note on finish. Not sweet at all.
Light body with lively carbonation. Has a body without being overwhelmed by fizzy carbonation.
I enjoyed this beer. After reading other reviews of this brewery, I wonder if I got a totally new beer. Definately a pilsner and not just a basic Pale Lager. I would be more than happy to drink more of this.

I had out of a bottle.
A- Gold color with a slight reddish hue. It has a big foamy head that leaves some lacing. It's very bubbly.
S- Smells kind of like cardboard.
T- It's very malty, and it has a kind of grape aftertaste. It Fruity and carbonated. Some spice to it, perhaps a touch of cinnamon. Solid, but too sweet to drink a lot.

The beer disembarks the 500ml brown bottle the time-honored lager gold with the commonplace white frothy head that is modest in size, the lace forms a velum like sheet upon the glass. Nose has the standard malt sweetness, crisp and clean, start is lightly sweet with the malt profile as expected, and the top is light in its feel to the palate. Finish is strikingly acidic, the hops adequate for the style, quite dry aftertaste, a drinkable but unremarkable beer.

Poured perfectly into a Guinness imperial pint glass. Very active carbonation, 3/4 inch thick head. Interesting yeast smell present that I didn't really expect. Creamy malt aroma with German smelling hops. The beer is a thick golden color. Looks surprisingly good. The taste isn't bad either, IMO. Thick, smooth, peppery, and well balanced. Slight corny effect at the end, but it's quickly shot down by a short, but pungent alcohol bite. I got this beer on sale for $1.13 and figured it was going to be crap, but I think it's rather decent. A strong, cheap, polish beer...
I met a Polish guy at a party once and after a few drinks he tried to tell me politely, (or maybe not so-) after a few more, that "[We] Americans drink, 'how do I say it...' woman beer". Funny, and honest. If this is his Budweiser, then he was correct.

Appearance: Clear gold color, big white head. Is this the same thing as Golden Denar?
Smell: Light grainy smell, some cooked vegetable scents, about the same as the aforementioned GD.
Taste: Bland malt, grainy, boring. Pretty much the same euro lager as before.
Mouthfeel: A little better than the last, more carbonation.
Drinkability: Still another boring euro lager. I won't buy this again.

500 ML brown bottle that is incredibly sturdy. Im guessing that in Poland, this is a returnable bottle. Nice label with a castle and what I think is a hop cluster on the front.
The beer pours a nice medium crystal clear gold. The head is initially massive, but it does settle down to a nice size.
The nose is that classic Euro lager smell. It is not skunked. The beer smells of fresh grain and subtle spicing . Light hop nose. Not bad at all.
The taste is much like the smell. Decent but non assertive hopping. Some grainy malts in the background. Beer has a bit of grass taste as well. Some slight apple/plum flavor emerges as you drink more. Decent but not challenging beer.
The mouthfeel is the weakest aspect of the beer. The beer needs a bit more carbonation. A little more zip would help this beer.
Still fairly drinakble. Easy to pair with any non spicy food. Chicago is home to a lot of Eastern European immigrants and because of that, I can always find a ton of beers from that corner of the world. Some are very good, some are not so good and some are like this one, decent but not spectacular.

Poured a slightly hazy golden pale color with weak to moderate head which dissapated quickly. A mild plain aroma with hint of sweet syrup hits the nose. A hint (although a small one) of citrus, lemon maybe, is noticed. The taste is muted to say the least. I keep trying a sip to describe more but all I end up with is a plain, mildly syrupy, muted taste of an "average" polish style lager with a hint of citrus. Not impressed by this one.
The beer I reviewed listed an alc % of 7.0.

Heres a pale golden colored brew, mostly clear with only a slight haze. Its got a foamy white head that had respectable staying power. The aroma is a mix of acidic citrus smells and muted Saaz hops. Its a bit sweet, with a malt and grass flavor. A pleasing bitterness takes over in the mid-taste, but the finish is a little weak. Somewhat grainy. Its certainly a step above a typical euro-lager, but its not quite inspiring or exceptional. Slightly above middle-of-the-road.

Poured from 500mL bottle into a pint glass.
Appearance: dark golden hue with a big haze and almost no head. There are also some big floaties of yeasty sediment in the body, but this is probably due to storage. In any case, not an outstanding look for a pale lager.
Smell: sweet, sweet, sweet malt with a light yeasty character. There's a light fruitiness, and it is an OK quality of aroma, but it's definitely more of a "strong lager" aroma than a "pale lager" aroma. Not horrible, but I don't love it.
Taste: sweet malt flavor which, again, isn't bad, but is definitely more of a strong lager character. Decent, but definitely on the side of too-sweet.
Mouthfeel: medium body with a good level of carbonation and a decent creaminess. Actually, the texture is quite good here -- I rather like it.
Overall: kind of a strange beer. Not my favorite, but it's not really offensive in any way. It may be miscategorized as a "Euro pale lager" rather than a strong lager.

Zamkowe 'extra' pours a semi-transparent, light bending, orange/brown color with a 1 finger white head with some sticking and moderate visible carbonation. It has a semi sweet nose of pale/light caramel malts and not much else. A malty sweetness first appears when tasting, some spice and dead fruits, a touch of hop-twang upon the finish. A boozy and standard strong Euro lager, this beer reminds me of Denmark and drinking strong Carlsberg brew all day everyday. It is alas pretty drinkable despite its medium, semi coating, almost grainy body.

I haven't had a good lager in quite a while so I picked this one up at Greens for the hell of it.
Appearance - 3.5: Nice deep golden hue with one finger of head dissolved to a thin top layer after 5 or 10 minutes. No foam left on side of glass.
Smell - 4: Big crisp hop aroma evident right from the beginning of the pour. Unfortunately that calms down after a few minutes in the glass, however more elegant citric and floral scents appear.
Taste - 3: At first the taste comes off as a tinny flavor on the tongue whcih could come from the use of too much or just the wrong hops, not sure what. Like the smell this softens after a while and becomes more balanced between malt, hops, a slightly creamy yeast presence and hints of lemon or lime. Still, that tinny taste is always somewhere in the background.
Mouthfeel - 3.5: Nice medium bodied lager with a medium-to-low acidity.
Drinkability - 3: For lager fans this might be a good one for everyday enjoyment, but to me it tastes like there may be something missing.

This beer pours a huge head that quickly falls away to a thin film of tight bubbles. Golden yellow body with an even but sparse trickle of carbonation rising. Aroma is weak, just a touch grainy. It looks and smells like any generic American lager. Flavor is about on par with the aroma and appearance. A bit sweet and bready. Very slight hop bitterness in finish. The flavors are just too muted and weak to leave an impression. Mouthfeel is a bit oily and slick, but only very slightly. Carbonation makes a brief appearance here cutting the little bit of viscosity present. A fairly drinkable beer if only for its wallflower character. Bland and forgettable, but utterly inoffensive.

A yellow beer with a slight haze big foamy bright white head and alittle bit of lace.. There is alight sweet grassy character in the aroma followed by a light malt biscuity note and a hint of lemon. The flavor is light quick any easy. A bit of the sweet grass then some hop bite at the sides of the tongue and a hint of lemon on the finish. I was hot and sweaty from work and this went down very nice.
