In town this last weekend visiting friends, and this was on my "must-stop" list. Stopped in on Saturday afternoon, and we were the only ones there besides the 2 guys working at the time. Both were friendly and helpful. Right when you walk in there is an awesome selection of glassware, which I appreciate as I think I love glassware as much as I love beer. Awesome presentation in the store as the beer is categorized perfectly, and I had no problem finding what I was in the mood for. A stellar Belgian section that carried many bottles that I hadn't seen anywhere else in the area, or in NC for that matter. They had about a dozen taps at the back for growler fills. They offer 3 different growler sizes, all of which were reasonably priced. Good selection there. Next to that station is a small cooler section with a good amount of chilled bottles, growlers and mini-kegs. A small island in the middle of the store carries a good selection of domestic offerings. Loved this store. Another one I will revisit when back in town. (1,029 characters)

If you're not familiar with the area, this place could be difficult to find. Really small shop, big selection. Their selection was excellent, but nothing different than what I could find in Simpsonville. Prices seemed fair. They do growler fills and the tap list was great. If you're in the area, it's worth the stop. (317 characters)

This place can be a pain in the arse to find, but well worth the effort. Parking is best in one of the nearby garages - I lucked out and parked in front, but could stay only 15 minutes. Service is first-rate - the fellow pointed me straight to some excellent South Carolina brews, and managed to get me out in time. He even came after me when I left my oh-so-important beers tried list hardcopy behind - extra point there! Prices appear to be reasonable. I hope that next time I visit Greenville I can spend more time in this great beer boutique. (546 characters)

Cool little place downtown, good selection of uncommon local stuff, growler fills, Thursday tasting...the staff can be a little condescending, but that's to be expected when you're not a regular customer (204 characters)

Best craft beer store in Greenville. Devin and Andrew are both super knowledgable and helpful and will help everyone find the perfect beer for their tastes. Also has the best selection of foreign beers in the whole state. I've been to other beer stores in other states and when they hear that I am from Greenville they don't even bother showing me the foreign section because it's not as good as GBX. Worth going out of your way to find. (441 characters)

Great selection of domestics and imports. Lots of "famous names" I haven't seen in other places. Staff was helpful, if not eager. Good glassware to choose from, and beer was fresh, too. (188 characters)

While small, GBE has an amazing inventory, which they also keep updated online. I've been there 3 times, and each time was a great experience. The staff is always helpful, knowledgeable and professional. Just give them your list and they'll fix you right up. (264 characters)

Went today on the way home from Phish tour. Got two cases of Westbrook Gose.
They had an amazing selection and also have a growler fill station. Tilquin PLUM! on the shelf. No food. Guy carried the beer out to the street for me after I purchased and went to pull the car around. Will definitely go back to play a round of disc golf in town and eat some food and spend even more $$$. Great neighbourhood. A must go. Parking is not so great but who cares it's worth it. (467 characters)

I started to buy good craft beer here when they first opened and for a few years after that...but the obnoxious frat boy service from really uninformed idiots finally drove me away to Community Tap as my primary craft beer provider, despite the fact that they don't have the same volume of selection. After refusing to fill growlers I've had filled at dozens of different locations prior and their ineptness of the beers they were selling we're enough to make me go elsewhere, but after being forced to listen to the then manager of the store ramble on about how his taste's were world class and mine were less than average, while waiting to check me out, I respectfully told him I didn't think I'd ever visit his store again...he blew up at me and went on a more than unprofessional tie raid as I walked out on him. Never stepped back in and never will. Most folks in town only put up with these morons and this place because its so close to Barley's. (952 characters)
