Tucked in behind Barley's, this store is a real find. Though small in size, they pack in an amazing amount of beer into that small space. Beer is organized well, attractively laid out, and the staff really knows their stuff. They are interested in your tastes and eager to make suggestions as to new beers to try. All beers are available as singles.

Growler station is solid, with 16 taps. Not much in the way of cooler space, but I don't think selling cold beer to go is what they had in mind.

As others have mentioned, selection is stellar - but this is SC. If you are driving along I-85, though, it would be worth it to make the short detour into downtown.

While small, GBE has an amazing inventory, which they also keep updated online. I've been there 3 times, and each time was a great experience. The staff is always helpful, knowledgeable and professional. Just give them your list and they'll fix you right up.

Went today on the way home from Phish tour. Got two cases of Westbrook Gose.
They had an amazing selection and also have a growler fill station. Tilquin PLUM! on the shelf. No food. Guy carried the beer out to the street for me after I purchased and went to pull the car around. Will definitely go back to play a round of disc golf in town and eat some food and spend even more $$$. Great neighbourhood. A must go. Parking is not so great but who cares it's worth it.

I started to buy good craft beer here when they first opened and for a few years after that...but the obnoxious frat boy service from really uninformed idiots finally drove me away to Community Tap as my primary craft beer provider, despite the fact that they don't have the same volume of selection. After refusing to fill growlers I've had filled at dozens of different locations prior and their ineptness of the beers they were selling we're enough to make me go elsewhere, but after being forced to listen to the then manager of the store ramble on about how his taste's were world class and mine were less than average, while waiting to check me out, I respectfully told him I didn't think I'd ever visit his store again...he blew up at me and went on a more than unprofessional tie raid as I walked out on him. Never stepped back in and never will. Most folks in town only put up with these morons and this place because its so close to Barley's.
