On-tap at the source during happy hour, on to the beer;
Very pale pee yellow as it sat in the glass. Thin head on top with little lacing. The aroma consisted of spice, coriander, and malted wheat. Tasting it was a different story. The menu said that this beer was a "classic witbier" with coriandor and fruity notes. Well, I did get some coriandor in the flavor profile, but it was a mere whisper to the strong tasting tart, sour lemon. Lemon. And more lemon. A little spiced, but....did I mention lemon? Well, the beer was firm in the mouth with the carbonation under control: no watery feel, no soda-like carbonation.
What's dissapointing here was this beer started off well, but the STRONG lemon flavor took away a lot of the character of the beer. I was licking my lips afterwards and still getting that tart, sour lemon flavor. And my beer wasn't even garnished with fruit! A dissapointment.

Had this on-tap, nice sunny day, during happy hour. I was really looking for a refreshing beer and this looked just about right - they use a 'sour-mashing' technique that actually adds some lactic acid to the brew and make for an especially tart beer.
A: Pale, straw yellow and cloudy. Very light in color, as a wit should be.
S: Citrusy/fruity, wheat, very slight coriander and clove notes. Could smell the tartness - it had a 'lemon' smell, but only in the sense that it smelled acidic.
T: Starts with a nice wheat backbone that quickly turns to a tart finish. Slight clove and lemon, with very little influence from any coriander or other spices. Not too bitter - the IBUs and the tartness from the sour mash work very well together.
M: Medium body and a slightly lower carbonation than I would have liked. Overall good though, not flat and not fizzy in your mouth.
O: Overall a good beer that I will be trying to copy myself very soon. Perfect refreshing beer for the soon-to-come hot days of summer!
