Poured into a pint glass and got plenty of head. I agree with a previous reviewer that it has some stout-y aromas. I would definitely get this again.

Poured into a perfect pint. Bottle.

5.0 A: Medium brown color. Two and a half fingers of pillowy tan head. Retention is very, very good and glass covering lacing is left. Been a while since I've seen an appearance this good.

3.75 S: Cocoa powder is the most plentiful of smells. Dry toastiness with moderate roast. Caramel in layers with hints of molasses.

3.5 T: Taste is good too, but not as good as the nose. Toasty with cocoa powder, caramel. Basically like the nose, but less pronounced.

3.0 M: Lighter body. Good moderate carbonation. Lacking creaminess but otherwise fine.

3.5 D: Decent beer. Worth a try.

Pours a huge, dense, frothy, tan head that has great persistence. Nice, toasted malt aroma. Black. Starts acidic with big notes of coffee and toasted malt. Moves into a surprising medium bitterness. Lingering citrus hops come through the toasted malt.

This isn't too bad. Very roasty with a nice hop bitterness. SUPER carbonated.

One of my favorite porters. I prefer stouts and this has the roasted smell of a stout with the feel of a porter.
Looks very dark with a of dark red in the light of the edges. Smells like a stout , roasted malts, a bit of cocoa, tastes like someone poured half porter and half stout into a glass , not a bad thing to me.
I really like this porter and I would have rated it higher but it is really carbonated a lot.
Head huge without an agressive pour. Best Flat 12 beer I have tried and I buy on a regular basis. My go to winter porter.

I do not really care for flat 12 beers, but this is an exception. I had this a couple times a enjoyed it. Even turned it into a beer float!
