look: 4 | smell: 3.5 | taste: 4 | feel: 3.5 | overall: 3.5

Appearance : Pours ruby red tinge of amber in color. Little to no head. Very adequate amount of bubbles.

Smell : Very stout like. Some caramel, a bit burnt charcoal and a little toffee. If you were to close your eyes and not see the beer, you would assume it to be a stout. Don't know if it is good or bad. To me, it is a mix of good and bad. sometimes i like it and sometimes not so much.

Taste : Malt, caramel and then at last you get what you would expect from hop stars at flat 12 a good deal of hops. The taste is very well balanced and you do not feel it till the last bit enters your mouth.

Mouth feel: Medium bodied and with very less carbonation, which is good.

Overall a mild toffee ruby IPA.

Good brew for experimentation and for winters.

Appearance: Very Copper, Too small of a white head, dissipates way too quickly, no lacing.

A hint of hops but I can't figure out what it smells like. Perhaps a touch piney.

Taste: Mellow piney. A real letdown.

mouthfeel: watery, boring

Overall: A generally piney concoction, better than average, but still disappointing.

12 oz

Pours a deep hazy brown. Head is thick and yellow-tan, dissipates very slowly.

Smells of biscuit malts, walnuts, and dry bitter hops.

Tastes of biscuit malt with a hint of grape sweetness over pecan and walnut with a flavorless bitter hop finish.

Medium body with soft tingly carbonation on the roof of the mouth.

A nice solid ale with some good flavor and body, drinks pretty easy and is worth trying.

12 oz. bottle poured into a craft pint.

A- Brownish red, with some good amber highlights. Healthy off-white head. Lots of yeast suspended throughout the body. Lacing is nice.

S- Piney/floral nose, is a bit harsh. Almost, cleaner/solvent like. Just a faint toast.

T- Mild toast with earthy and floral hop tones. The scale tips more to hops, but still decently balanced. Some caramel comes out as well.

M- Pretty clean throughout. Wet finish, but a dull bitterness hangs on to the tip of my tongue.

O- Okay. A few off-characteristics. Aroma and the higher bitterness, mainly, for a standard amber.

A- Pours a very rust-like amber in color with a small, 1 finger head. Retention is good and lacing is also good. Body of the beer is very hazy, with visible debris in suspension.

S- Very faint overall, with a hint of slight hoppiness coming through. Amber malts are also a evident and just a touch on the sweet side. Actually just a hint of chocolate sweetness comes through too.

T- Starts with mild hops bitterness and transitions into more malty flavors rather quickly. Hops are only a little bitter, with pine flavors being the primary flavor. Malts are grainy and bready in flavor with very little sweetness when compared to the scent. Malt flavors linger for a little bit after the drink.

M- Easy drinking, highly carbonated, and a little thinner than expected on the tongue.

Overall, just your average, small brewery, flagship amber ale. Worth trying, not worth seeking out.

12 FL OZ. bottle
Served in a tumbler

A - This beer pours a deep amber color. A normal pour produced a ton of tan head.

S - The aroma is sweet caramel malt, and I get a berry scent. There is a little floral hop aroma, and a tea-like smell.

T - It has a floral tea taste to it. At first I got some bitterness.

M - Moderate

O - This was a random pick up in Indiana. I had little expectation. It had a little more going for it than I anticipated, but I wouldn't buy it again mostly because of the millions and millions of beers that I have yet to try.
