Poured from a bottle into a tulip

A. Very dark brown almost black. Impenetrable by light. Nice foamy 2 finger head. Very little lacing.

S. Roasted malts fill the nose with a milk chocolate aroma almost like chocolate milk.

T. Roasted malts, hazelnut, hop resin and bakers chocolate fill the palate. Slight bitterness. Flavor really cones on after about 3 seconds. Kinda weird. But once it kicks in its nice.

M. Little light for a stout. Also a bit much carbonation for a stout. I don't dislike it. But it is different. Finishes slightly dry.

O. A different milk stout. But still enjoyable. I would pick a couple up in a mix and match six pack. But I wouldn't go out of my way.

Pours a thin black body with a minimal mocha colored head which dissippated in about a minute. The tiniest bit of light shines through.

Immediate aroma is dark fruits, followed by roasted malts and a sweet caramel and chocolate malts.

Taste is dominated by roasted malts, espresso, and chocolate with a hint of dark fruits in the background.

The mouth feel us by far the most disappointing aspect of this beer. Very thin for the style.

Cocoa and nutty malt dominate, along with lacto sweetness and a hit of roast malt. Flavor is fairly roasty initially, along with a touch of an acrid character, with lactose hitting mid palate for a touch of sweetness, finishing fairly bitter and a touch charred. A bit too burnt for my liking.

Poured from a 12 oz bottle into a pint glass

The beer pours a deep mahogany with a monster tan head that recedes slowly leaving behind a generous amount of lacing. The overabundance of head when pouring this beer is almost annoying, it took about 10 minutes just to get the whole beer poured.

The beer smells of roasted malt and chocolate, not overpowering but pleasant.

The taste consists of roasted malts and is slightly bitter, not much sweetness from the lactose, and just a hint of chocolate. The body is a little thinner than I like in a milk stout, it seems as though they skimped on the lactose and were just a little heavy handed with the roasted barley.

Overall, this is not a bad beer, if I didn't know that they were going for a milk stout I would think that this was a solid offering for a standard stout, but it is definitely missing something for a milk stout

From Flat 12, this milk "stout" pours a dark amber/brown---not black. HUGE tan head that keeps going and going with clinging lacing. Aromas of chocolate and sweet roasted malts. Taste is slightly bitter up front, almost burnt with some hop bitterness intertwined. Sweet malts coming through on the back round this one out. A solid milk stout, but lacking in a lot of depth.
