Hazy amber to light brown in color with a fingernail of off white foam on top. Impenetrable to light. Aroma of piney hops is pleasant. The taste is very pungent and bitter piney hops with a nice light malt backbone to follow it up with. The mouth is pleasant and crisply refreshing.

Pours amber with an impressive, tight, creamy, thick head. Slightly bready and earthy in the nose with fruity esters. Crisp carbonation upfront. Malty base with toasty undertones. Lemony, citric bite. Fruity, minty, dank, gritty, with notes of tea and tobacco too. Oily towards the end. Finishes ashy, chalky, tannic, and dry.

An IPA that wants to be a DIPA. Could use a bit of cleaning up. There's a lot going on, and it's not all working together. Despite this, a good offering nonetheless.

The green 750 bottle had us all wary, but it turned out to be fine.

Poured into a slender tulip glass, it had a saturated orange gold color, transparent with a flurry of rising carbonation after the initial pour. Long lasting cap of white foam, plenty of spindly webbed lacing all around the glass.

Dank aroma of pineapple and candied orange peel, moving on to an unmistakeable cheesy funk of Columbus hops.

Flavors are heady and hop forward, more Columbus verging on parmesan but stopping just short. Plenty of tropical fruitiness and a drying bitter finish that builds and lingers for a good while. Light to medium bodied for a DIPA, not too bulky or sweet with caramel malt like so many others. This is light and drinkable, with a deft hop punch to it. Recommended.

Pours a murky dark orange color, with a nearly white head, leaving decent sporadic lacing. Aroma has a nice soft citrus and tropical fruit vide, light fruity sweetness, and bits or sweet maltiness. Taste goes more tropical with some passonfruit, orange, mango and pineapple. The bitterness is low, body is medium, somewhat soapy, oily, and creamy. The low bitterness makes it quite drinkable, but still having loads of hop flavor. All in all, its great. Super drinkable, flavorful.

My favorite Missouri brewed ipa. Big Simcoe heavy ipa, very similar to Green Flash west coast. Lots of resiny hop notes in the aroma, with a lot of the same in the taste, along with the normal citrus/grapefruit Simcoe taste. Slightly sweet as well, but finishes really dry. Seek it out. Btw, this beer is not bottled, so no idea what the other review is about.

750 ml. bottle purchased at The Wine And Cheese Place. This is my first offering from 2nd Shift.

A-Pours out a slightly hazy but bright orange body with 2 1/2 inches of creamy, pillowy, ivory head that showed good retention and gobs of sticky lacing.

S-The presence of Simcoe hops is stamped all over this beer's nose.Peach Jolly Rancher, key lime, sweet orange, light caramel and cracker malts.

T-Tangy nectarine, grapefruit, pine, toffee, sourdough and a bitter aspirin finish. This is one more are where the use of Simcoe is undeniable.

M-Bitter,oily and juicy with godd use of supporting malts.

O-Not a bad way to be introduced to 2nd Shift.Really enjoyed this.
