Poured practically no head and left no traces. It has a pale yellow collor.
Very faint aroma, unless warm when it gets unpleasant. Good carbonation.
Very light bodied. Sweetness coming from rice and corn. Sweeter than other Braziliand adjunct lagers and less bitter. Made for mass production. In my opinion the worst adjunct lager among the comercial scale production in Brazil, given more intense flaws than its peers.
Interesting that the real chopp version (not just its name), seems to taste a little better, specially the Dark version, which is sweet but pleasant. Better to have it very fresh and at a very low temperature to numb your senses and enjoy a potential refreshing feeling.

A - pours with a small white head on a clear, straw colored body. Fades quick and leaves no lace.

S - sweet, grainy malt and little else.

T - Very thin grainy flavor; I wouldn't quite call it malt flavored, more like barley water. Just nothing else going on.

M - medium body, average carbonation, and a dry finish.

D - light, watery, no flavor, just bad.

A true draft beer in Brazil is called Chopp. Anyone who rates Brahma Chopp and enters bottle is a Dumass. We were getting ready to kick it in Sao Paulo...but need to in fuse some Brahma Chopp.

A-4 huge white foamy head that laces well, golden clear
S-2 nothing
T-3.5 low carbonation, very smooth beer, not overly grainy
M-4 can drink a ton

Tasteless and watery feel to it. I still prefer the Brahma Extra over this. Pale yellow, disappearing head, watery mouthfeel, no smell, no taste. Hard to imagine this is so popular.

Extra .5 point for smootherish mouthfeel compared to the other Brahma styles, but really nothing different. Skip this and go with Bohemia (Behemia Weiss even better). Even better if you find something other than Brahma, Bohemia, or Skol.

A- Very light body, very clear yellow, very ugly head. No lace...

S- Smells like bad sweet beer. Not much to it with a little alcohol.

T- Bready malt, a little watery, not much to talk about. Again, just a less than average beer.

M- Very light with a lot of carbonation.

D- Easy, but who cares?

Notes: I'm cervezango's friend that sang the song.

fast dissapating head mid clear gold, looks like a pale lager smells likea pale lager

Starts with lots of carb and goes flat Wheat

pretty smooth

says it's a pilsner but its not really bitter at all
My friend said while we were drinking it together sang "cant find a bitter beer" like the pearl jam song better man. Because in brazsil all the so called pilsners weve tried are all boring non bitter euro pale lagers.

it was vert inexpensive so i understand to a certain degree

Got this while in Brazil, at a decent wine, beer, and liquor shop in the downtown area of Larajeiras, Vitoria, E.S.

Big fizzy head fades at a medium pace over crystal clear golden yellow very light colored beer.

Nose of light pilsner and very light wheat and malts, light crisp lager, very light overall and slightly skunked despite being in a can.

Taste brings very light crisp lager pilsner flavors, an adjunct cheap malt extract taste with some skunk flavors, light icky bitterness in the finish as well. Light sweet malts and a bit of sweet lager fruits.

Mouth is super light with decent carbonation.

Drink is great though, it's essentially water, and on a super hot day in Brazil this isn't too bad to wash down, and probably safer than the water. However, that slight skunk flavor takes away a bit from the drink.

330ml bottle served in a chalice.

A: Pours a pale golden yellow color forming a medium bubbled aired white head. Low retention. A small layer remains and some lacings are formed

S: Smell is imperceptive. I would say some sweet grains. Still looking for the hops... Corn is a killer in the nose, becoming worst as it warms

T: Imperceptive too. Very watery. Some notes of sweet grains and corn. Disgusting taste of cardboard. A bit metallic. In overall, a crisp and bready taste. Very mild bitter aftertaste

M: VERY light watery body and strong artificial carbonation. Light corn in the aftertaste

O: Low drinkability. Difficult to finish. Once in Brazil, go for the new small breweries like a Eisenbahn, Baden Baden, Colorado and etc. You will find better beers there, for sure...

Found some notes on this beer in my suitcase. Consumed on tap at some forgettable bar in Asuncion, Paraguay.

The beer was served ice cold with a white head atop a fizzy yellow body. Smells and tastes like some economy Macro brew I would expect to find in any college beer bong. Overall, this beer was underwhelming in all areas... and I finished the glass only out of an implied obligation to the person that bought it for me.

Pours a pale straw yellow with a foamy white head that dissipated but still left decent lacing down the pint glass - a surprise for sure. Good carbonation and bubbles in the glass.

Some macro scents, but pretty much some light malt and grassy notes. Nothing really off here.

Light malt sweetness with some light hop bitterness and a very clean finish -- what separates this from all of the macro-crap out there is the finish. No sour bullshit, no corn, just light grain and grass. A little too light in the flavor department, but not watery. Just lacks a bit of the intensity that would put this over the edge to decent/good.

Lighter-bodied and decently carbonated- smooth, no real bite.

Overall, I expected the worst from the gift from Porto Alegre, and go something that I could put down easily around the grill -- too bad it's March. Not great, not horrible. Essentially, a better macro. This stuff blows Bud away.

Chopp do Brahma seems to be a big deal in Brazil, so the moment to try it happened at a Greek restaurant in Porto Alegre. On to the beer:

Bright clear pale straw color, served with a big creamy white head on top. Somewhat sweet and somewhat corny, but with fewer off-flavors than the competition, and served ice cold on draft, there are few flaws in this light tasting beer. It was very light in the mouth, almost like a cloud, which was the very highlight of this beer. Very drinkable.

All the AmBev lagers I've had so far in Brazil have been sub-standard. Brahma Chopp though, served on-tap ice cold, is a light, refreshing treat that meets the standard for an adjunct lager. Actually, it was kind of cool to walk into an establishment with Chopp do Brahma and see the machine which dispenses it to be covered in ice.

Update: Had again at Copacabana beach in Rio in December 2009, also on-tap. Not as heavenly as I remember. Not as "misty" in mouthfeel, not as creamy, and with a little more off-flavor. It was okay washing down beef and mussarela skewers.

My girlfriend brought me a few Brazilian made beers back from her trip to Sao Paulo. I really appreciated her gesture but this beer was anything but good. Little to no malt character at all. Slight bitterness but over all it was like drinking straw colored water. Needless to say it was very drinkable but in a "i wanna get wasted" kinda way.
