(Served in a short glass)

A- This beer pours a slightly hazy golden body with a thick creamy and bubbly head that sticks to the glass while it last and a gentle carbonation of big bubbles.

S- The juicy green citrus hops come through even before the bartender sets the beer in front of me. There are some tropical fruit aromas to the hops that grow as the beer opens up. The finish is like pure orange jello.

T- The dry woody green hop flavor is much more mellow that the aroma but is still full with a nice pungent flavor in the finish that also has citrus pith and it pretty dry. There is a pungent hop flavor that lingers after each sip.

M- The medium mouthfeel has a soft astringent bite from the hops and the dry fizz note in the finish.

D- This beer has huge hops in the nose but they don't show up quite like that in the taste. It was a very nice hoppy beer but it was really a bit to dry to make me want more than one. Unless I get a second one just to sniff.

Deep reddish orange, bright clarity to the body. It has a thin cap of foam that fades after a few minutes, though it laces nicely into drippy concentric ring formations.

Dank, resinous hops, orange peel and a hint of booziness.

Flavor follows suit, the body is full and viscous, the taste is a steamroller of hops and alcohol. Firmly bitter, slightly sweet. Hops have an earthy pine character, with a touch of orange sweetness. The alcohol is a bit noticeable in this first batch, but it's not overly distracting. One to sip slowly and take time with.

Served in a 12oz goblet at Haymarket 3/15/11. Thanks to pops for the assist!

A: Served a deep, rich orange with stunning clarity. One full finger of off-white foam retained for a good while before settling into a thick skim that left quite a bit of lace.

S: Each whiff is different and they run the gamut from pine to citrus to sweet malt, to earthy/herbal hops. Each sniff finished with nostril tickling booziness.

T: Pretty much just as above with one exception being way too much emphasis on alcohol flavor.

M: Quite hot and loaded with solvent alcohol. Strips my tongue clean after each sip.

D: This one was a bit of a battle to finish. It's only 8%, but it felt like almost twice that. Ouch.

On-tap at Haymarket. 4oz taste stange.

A - Looks pretty similar to the IPA, but with more lace and a fuller cap.

S - Pine, earthy and woodsy, cat pee, and surprisingly little malt - what's there is mostly bready. There's a little bit of citrus sweetness that comes out as it warms, but it's pretty much all pine.

T - More bread and yeast malt character, and a bit of sweetness as well. Mostly just pine and oppressive bitterness.

M - Body is similar to the IPA. Slightly grittier texture.

D - This is for Chinook lovers only. Mathias is a much superior DIPA. I struggled through 4oz and wouldn't order this again.
