I thought the Last Chance was a good Belgian style IPA. The color was a cloudy golden-straw color with white head. The smell was a lightly hopped aroma with some pine notes. Flavor is floral grassy-pine, very smooth. The body was medium to light and smooth carbonation. A solid IPA. It’s an drinkable Belgian-style IPA.

had this on tap at haymarket. Pours a nice orange/gold color with a nice head

Very good aromas of orange peels, citrus, creams and some spice aromas as well. Well balanced with good depth

Full bodied with a good creamy and smooth feel. The feel really stands out along with flavors of oranges, spice tones and a touch of hops. Not too complex with the flavors which takes away slightly

A really good belgian IPA. Excellent aromas with a really good feel to this as well. Well balanced as well and a real quality beer from haymarket. Hopefully they start having this in the rotation

Served in a chalice-esque glass at the brewpub.

Another stop on the Second Annual Bachelor Party Free-For-All! This one pours a hazy sunset gold topped by a finger of off-white foam. The nose comprises grapefruit rind, lemon zest, clove, cardamom, and wheat. The taste brings in more of the same, with plenty o' grapefruit leading all the way. The body is a light medium, with a light moderate carbonation and a dry-ish finish. Overall, a very solid BIPA. 'Nuff said, really.

Pours a cloudy, golden color. 1/2 inch head of a white color. Great retention and great lacing. Smells of citrus hops, slight floral hops, alcohol, slight sweet malt, and a hint of pine. Fits the style of a Belgian IPA. Mouth feel is sharp and crisp, with an average carbonation level. There is a strong bitterness. Tastes of citrus hops, slight floral hops, alcohol, slight sweet malt, hint of pine, slight earthy malt, and a hint of caramel malt. Overall, good appearance, aroma, body, and blend.

This appears a cloudy golden-straw color (in dim light). I get a lightly hopped aroma with some pine notes. Flavor is floral grassy-pine, with a little chewiness. A solid IPA. It’s an easy drinker but nothing exciting. More on the Belgian-style side than an IPA.

On-tap at Haymarket. Served in a 5oz taster glass.

A - Creamy white foam settles to a thick cap, leaving behind splotchy lace. Lightly hazed golden straw body.

S - Belgian yeast and Amarillo hops provide a nice mix of citrus, stone fruits, spicy yeast and herbs. Quite nice stuff.

T - The taste is a bit more Belgian, with more spicy yeast and stone fruit malts mid-palate. These flavors yield to piney hop bitterness and a mild astringency.

M - Zesty carbonation that burns on the back of the throat. Medium body, with a dry finish. It's OK other than unpleasant burning sensation.

D - This started out quite promising, with a nice aroma and initial flavor, but the astringent finish and irritating feel really send things off the rails. Still, the combination of hops and Belgian yeast is well chosen.
