This beer is retired; no longer brewed.

The second collaboration between Brewmaster Pete Crowley and Top Chef winner Stephanie Izard. This Belgian Farmhouse ale was brewed with whole fennel, toasted fennel seeds and fresh Michigan strawberries. Crisp, refreshing, and spicy!

poured from tap into tulip. Pours a nice hazy gold color with a good head.

Balanced aromas of spices, citrus, pears and some creams. Lacking depth but solid.

medium bodied with a nice smooth feel. But, it's lacking on both the mid and finish with notes of spices, pears and some creams as well.

This is a decent saison, but kinda forgettable. Nothing all that special but drinkable.

Served in a chalice-esque glass at the brewpub.

Another stop on the Second Annual Bachelor Party Free-For-All! This one pours a clear brass topped by a finger of lightly off-white foam. The nose comprises tangerine and light sour lemon. Nothing but strong and mildly tart fruit hittin' my 'strils here. The taste holds notes of lemon zest, wheat, coriander, cardamom, and wild strawberry (though this may have just been influenced by the menu telling me the beer was brewed with strawberries). The body is a rather light medium, with a light moderate carbonation and a sorta/kinda grainy feel. Overall, a pretty solid saison, but one that lacks that certain saison-ness in most aspects. That, and the strawberries really don't come through all too well (save for the subconscious suggestion thing hinted at above). It's still pretty good, just not as good as it theoretically could be, I guess. Something like that...
