This beer is retired; no longer brewed.

Created to celebrate the 10th Anniversary of our own Drinking & Writing Theater, this beer was tapped during "The Beats" festival, features 10 ingredients and is named for the work of William S. Burroughs. Brewers from Goose Island, Metropolitan, DryHop, Revolution, Rock Bottom and Half Acre worked with us to create the recipe and brew!

Had at haymarket. Pours a medium gold color with a nice head.

Well put together with aromas of grains, noble hops, and some citrus as well.

Medium bodied with a smooth feel. It does thin a bit, but also has very good notes of
Citrus, crackers, grains, and noble hops.

A quality lager. I would like to see this in rotation more.

On-tap at Haymarket. Served in a 4oz taster glass.

A - White foam settles to a thin collar, wisps, and fingers of lace. Transparent light amber body.

S - Sweet and toasted malts, some light beet sugar and a mild starchy flavor. Faint hops mixed in there. Not sure what the other adjuncts are, but they don't seem to contribute a ton.

T - The taste is also spot on for an amber lager. Toasty and fruity malts, hint of beet sugar, mild hop bitterness, and a clean finish.

M - Medium body, smooth texture, medium-low carbonation, and a clean lager finish. It's a touch watery, but not excessively so for a 4.5% beer.

D - Pretty solid amber lager, although it seems less complex than you'd expect from the description. Maybe the ten ingredients include the water, malts, and yeast? Easy to drink, but I'm looking for lagers that push the style boundaries a little more.
