I have been looking forward to stopping in at the Haymarket for quite some time now, and I was in town for the Festival of Wood and Barrel Aged Beer last weekend, so we stopped by. I had read alot about Indignant, their BBN Stout, so I was excited to see it was till on tap.
The food was nothing special, honestly. I would say it is average microbrewery food. The overall feel and vibe was lively, but the decorating was kind of corporate and stale.
The beer was fantastic though. The Indignant hit the spot, and the BBN Barleywine they had on tap was equally as satisfying. The smoked Porter they were pouring that night was a real hit, with a huge smokey nice and rich body. It's worth a stop for the beer, maybe pass on the food.

One of my favorite places to go in Chicago. Great food (The Riot is amazing), great beers on tap all the time, and their barrel aged beers are phenomenal. Claire’s Thirsty ale is one of my all-time favorite beers, followed by Acrimonious & Indignant.
They’ve won a number of medals at multiple beer festivals and they are well deserved.
Pete is constantly pumping out quality brews, but one of the tried & true staples is Mathias Imperial IPA. It is absolutely amazing, but at 10%, it’ll sneak up on ya after a couple.
Easy walk from Ogilvie Metra station and not far from Union Station, if you haven’t gone before, I’d definitely recommend going.
