I had a four hour layover while taking the Amtrak through Chicago to Michigan. Looked this place up and decided it was within walking distance of the Amtrak station. I think it was less than half a mile away, ~10 min walk. Well worth it.
I was there at about noon on a Friday and the place was pretty dead, which is fine by me. I sat at the bar and the bartender came right over and informed me about the house brews and visitor tap selection. The bartender is what stood out about this place. He was really friendly and knowledgeable about the beers they were serving. I also started a conversation with another patron who was a beer enthusiast and it really made the place seem great.
I did a flight and must say their Indignant Bourbon Imperial Stout was awesome. Also got to try Three Floyds Arctic Panzer Wolf which was pretty good. They had bottles of Goose Island Bourbon Barrel County Stout, but at $13/bottle I wasn't that desperate to try it out. Just the fact that they had it was impressive though.
Overall, the service and selection is what stood out and I would definitely recommend heading here if you have a layover at Amtrak and need to kill some time or live in the area and need some good beer.

One of my favorite places to go in Chicago. Great food (The Riot is amazing), great beers on tap all the time, and their barrel aged beers are phenomenal. Claire’s Thirsty ale is one of my all-time favorite beers, followed by Acrimonious & Indignant.
They’ve won a number of medals at multiple beer festivals and they are well deserved.
Pete is constantly pumping out quality brews, but one of the tried & true staples is Mathias Imperial IPA. It is absolutely amazing, but at 10%, it’ll sneak up on ya after a couple.
Easy walk from Ogilvie Metra station and not far from Union Station, if you haven’t gone before, I’d definitely recommend going.

Great place near the loop. Some of the best beer in the city as well. The food is not the best, but it is very good. There are a lot of high end restaurants nearby as well if you're a food enthusiast. Haymarket is a fantastic place to watch a game and grab a beer. If they have any barrel aged goodies on tap, do not hesitate to head over.
