Notes/Commercial Description:
Under the glow of a bright harvest moon, Tristan DeLuna discovered Pensacola. It’s too bad we weren't around or he could have celebrated his discovery with the cool flavor of the Extra Pale Ale that bears his name.

Life must have been hard for those early settlers… If you walk along the Gulf’s edge during a full moon with a pint of the Extra Pale Ale, you might just hear the voices from a few centuries ago, wishing for a sip. We won’t tell if you don’t share.

Can you imagine living through a Florida summer without a refreshing pint from time to time? We can’t either. Whether you’re trying to warm yourself up or cool yourself down, sail under the moonlight with our DeLuna Extra Pale Ale.

Glad to finally get a local, full scale brewery! I have had this beer at the brewery served in a standard pint glass, at a professional beer pairing dinner again in a pint glass and at a local social event, in a keg served (sorry) in a plastic cup.

A: light colored ale, good deal of head that hangs around for a bit (especially when folks over pump the keg)

S: some hop, citrus, nothing overwhelming

T: good drinking balanced beer, crisp, some hoppiness but not overwhelming, anyone can drink this beer not what I would consider a strong APA

M: easy to drink, clean, crisp, great beer after paddle boarding or out on the boat.

Overall: I may be a bit biased as this is my local full scale brewery, but this is an easy to drink refreshing beer. Early on in their brewing process PBB was working out the kinks I'm sure and the consistency was not there, but lately the kinks are working their way out and the beers are getting better and better! Looking forward to the years to come.

Pint served at brewery.

Made with Bohemian Pilsner malts, Nobel hops, and 2 German hops. IBU = 23

Pale golden with 1 finger pure white head; head has moderate retention; medium-high carbonation visible.

S - Czech style malt with hop background

T - clean; nice pilsner finish

M - smooth and a bit sparkling; light and watery

It pours a clear golden color with a creamy white head that sticks around and leaves good lacing.

The aroma has a touch of citrus and noble hops, with toast and nutty notes.

The flavor has a nutty backbone, toasty with light, crisp, clean tones. Accented with noble hops and citrus. Nothing overpowering. Nice balance, but nothing impressive.

Good balance, clean, crisp, and refreshing.

Overall, a nice, easy drinking beer.

Pale ale. I drank a beer called Maiden voyage that was served during the first week of this establishment opening. I'm reviewing here because it seems to fit.

A Decent head pale golden color 4

S Estery grainy aroma 3.5

T Bready malty flavor, hops are present but just to balance an leave some astringency, tastes like an all malt light colored beer. 4

M Thick on the tongue, good for such a pale ale. 4.5

D Very quaffable beer. 4

Consumed at the brewery, March 10th, 2012.

Very clear light yellow with a very fine white head.

Aroma is sweet like honey with a very slight floral hop note. Also, something that makes me think of cake batter.

Corn and husky grain flavor. Damned if this doesn't taste like an adjunct lager. Very low bitterness.

Mouthfeel: dry with a bit of bite.

Overall, I would not drink this again, though it's probably not a bad example of the "extra pale" style. Just not enough flavor for this boy.

A: straw in color, slightly hazy, but head and lacing need some work.

S: smells like a kölsch, with no fruit, and emphasis on cereal grains. There is no hop aroma here at all.

T: ok, it is now obvious that this is following the old nomenclature of extra-pale, being extra light and low on hops, rather than the new definition being Ann extra heavy and hoppy brew. Flavor is still kölschs like, with a clean body, light hopping, and emphasis on grain. Flavorful, but the name is misleading.

M: light, dry, and clean on the finish.

D: a nice beer that is under the wrong style listing. Change the name, and my grade will go up.

A: single finger head on a straw to golden colored clear body.

S: sweet corn, slightly bitter hop notes and breads.

T: earthy, noble hop bitterness. Biscuits and breads.

M: high carbonation and light bodied.

Overall: Drinkable and definitley sticks to the extra pale ale genre with its hop profile.
