Like the soft wind over a beach dune, our Sawgrass Wheat is crisp and refreshing. It’s the perfect beer to sip while watching the tide roll in, lolling on a jon boat, or barbecuing with friends.

If you like laid-back Sunday afternoons, Sawgrass Wheat is calling your name. A pleasant beer, Sawgrass Wheat will please even the pickiest of palettes. There’s nothing prickly about our smooth wheat brew.

It’s seasonal, so make sure to stop by the Pensacola Bay Brewery to try a taste. Just like long summer nights and fireflies, the gentle Sawgrass Wheat is available for a short time only.

And don’t worry, our wheat beer is made with the finest ingredients, never with sawgrass.

I had a draft of this at the Pensacola airport on my way to Gulf Shores Alabama. Not really that good but I was glad to see local beer at such a small, remote establishment. I also had the IPA and found this to be a little better.

Appearance was as it should be. Light orange, fluffy head.

Some wheaty aroma but not much overall. Flavor as well was pretty unremarkable.

Try it but don't expect too much.

It poured a hazy yellow, nice white head, slow fade and good lacing. Just like an average wheat beer should look.

The aroma was of faint, sweet wheat with a touch of citrus and some grassy notes. Nothing stood out, but it did smell fresh.

The flavors were fresh, clean grain, wheat, and a touch of citrus, lemony notes, and some grassy hints. Nice balance, but nothing exciting.

Crisp, clean and refreshing with a slightly creamy finish and grainy middle.

Overall, an ok beer. Nothing wrong with it, and the balance was great. Nothing off the charts or attention grabbing though. A nice wheat beer.

Consumed March 10th, 2012 at the brewery.

Appearance: cloudy light yellow with a fine white head.

Aroma: a slight metallic tang and a hint of lemon.

Flavor: a faint wheat note. Very slight lemon taste. Zero bitterness.

Mouthfeel: fairly dry and well-carbonated.

Overall, I would never order this beer again. I don't personally care for this style to start with, and there's nothing to pique my interest here. Sorry, PBB: I really like your brewery and some of your other beers. This one is just not for me.

Served on-tap at Hooters in Pensacola Beach FL in a standard shaker glass.

Appearance: Clear deep gold color with little heaf that leaves spotty lace.

Smell: Very faint aroma of sweet malt with some citrus.

Taste: Begins with some citrus, finishing with sweet malts and breadiness along with more citrus.

Mouthfeel: Lighter body with balanced catbonation and a clean, smooth and refreshing finish.

Overall: An unimpressive but still worthy brew. A good summer refresher

I had this beer at the hotel I was staying at on the Gulf of Mexico, and it was a decent beer. There wasn't a whole lot of flavor but it was good for drinking in the hot sun. It tastes like a watered down wheat beer and has that light bread taste. Not a bad beer if you are in the area though.
