Pours a clear red/orange with a nice fluffy white head.
Smells of grapefruit, pine, some stone/pitted fruit, along with a slight sweetness.
Taste is odd astringent/onion hop character up front that goes into a more unpleasant grassy/vegetal character that lingers into the finish. Almost has a chemical-like taste...odd.
Light to medium body with medium to low carbonation and no real signs of the abv.
The aroma and appearance had me excited for this one, but it has a surprisingly grassy/astringent character that is not pleasing, along with an odd, really dry vegetal taste in the finish.

12 oz can into a pint glass. Big thanks go to Stakem for hauling this one back from FL for me.
Pours a clear copper, with a couple fingers of foamy bright-white head. This maintains roughly a ½ finger or so of rich froth, which soaps the sides of the glass with lace. The aroma smells of pine, grapefruit, and spice, with a big underlying malty push of grainy toast and some sweeter caramel. The nose definitely has some flavor to it but overall isn’t very airy in the nostrils.
The taste is at least a bit more forceful with the hops, with a zesty grapefruit character and herbal tones that are buffered underneath by a malty backbone of toasted grains and caramel. This is definitely more balanced than the nose; with this finishing fairly aggressive as pith and pine stick to the tongue after each sip. The mouthfeel is medium bodied, with a firm creaminess that fills up the mouth but then glides along on some underlying oiliness. This has a little bit of warmth to it as well, which really brings out that assertive finish at times.
There were definitely some things to like here but the maltiness of the nose made me think that maybe this can had some age on it. It’s hard to say since the balance improved a lot in the taste once this warmed. I was intrigued enough though to check it out if I ever run across it again.

This had tons of life with loads of bubbly carbonation but the color seemed a tad light. The color was somewhere between a yellow and an orange but relatively clear.
The aromas were strong on the onion, earthy, humid forest type but then turned fruity with grapefruit and orange rind. Very interesting.
The flavor seemed less diverse with a floral start and an orange rind finish. The finish is quite bitter with a harsh and astringent feel.
It's always tricky to review beers that seem to be well received but your experience is not up to that standard. I'll have to try it again in hopes I find it better.
