Notes/Commercial Description:
The West Coast comes to Jax with this extremely hoppy, true India Pale Ale. Our two-row malted barley and caramel malt come to life with a ?@!#-ton of Northwest hops. We use 4 different hops during the brewing process and during dry hopping. It’s music to your nose.

Finally getting caught up on my reviews from the 4th of July. Fron a 12oz can into a snifter. The brew appears a clear amber color with a tan cap that receeds
leaving patchy lace sticking to the glass.

The aroma is sweet and toasty grain with an inclusion of citrus hops that are a bit herbal. Quite rindy with a touch of alcohol across the back as it warms up.

The taste is toasty and sweet like caramel grain and then it turns catty with herbs and a pulpy hop bitterness. It lasts long into the aftertaste with resins and fruity bitter pulp flavoring that is quite herbal.

This is a medium bodied brew with a modest amount of carbonation. It displays a big hop impact and bitterness with little alcohol inclusion. Not the best ipa but pretty good as far as canned offerings go. It is worth a try but nothing to get crazy about.

I poured this from the can into a tulip style glass. There was three fingers of foam with some stickyness. The lacing was light over the orange beer. This beer is relatively clear.

The nose on this beer has nice flowering hops. It isn't a hop bomb, just some lighter hop presence on the top.

The flavor on this beer is decent. It has some citrus and a some malt in there. The balance is a little off. This beer is pretty good. I would like to try this on tap to compare to the canned version.

A-cloudy amber with a cream stable head

S-creamy citrusy hops. medium strength. some age to it.

T-comes in with a strong flavor of aged citrusy hops. it's a very thorough and somewhat grainy flavor. matching after-taste. fair lack of bitterness.

M-creamy medium carbonation with a nice creamy finish

O-it really doesn't have the best flavor, but it is extremely crisp and drinkable. i went through this real quickly because it went down so easily. i wouldn't discourage you from going out and trying this, it might even be worth getting the 6-pack.

A: Poured a orangish color with good carbonation and a nice white cap that provides some nice head retention, bubbles and light lacing

S: Caramel, citrus bouquet and pine

T: A noticable caramel malt with some light grapefruit, prange peel which transitons into a little bit of pine resin. The finish is pretty clean, some sort of light metal like twang, light booze sting and light hop bitterness

M: Medium bodied, well carbonated, pine and citrus sit on the palate.

O: A pretty good IPA. Balanced and I would drink again.

12 oz. can poured into a shaped DFH pint glass. Thanks to Brendan for sending this one.

A - Pours copper with a two fingers of off-white head. The foam dies quickly, but leaves a thick halo around the edge. Good lacing.

S - Smells of stale grains, some citrus hops, and sweet bread. I'm not a big fan of the aroma. Smells more like an English IPA thn a West Coast IPA.

T - Strong citrus hops throughout. Sweet and malty enough to balance. Dry and bitter finish.

M - Medium body with an underlying smooth carbonation.

O - I didn't really enjoy the aroma, but the flavor made up for it. Very balanced IPA with good malt and a bitter finish. I always appreciate a good IPA from a can as well. Pretty good stuff.

A- pours bright-orange copper in color with a two-finger white creamy head, long retention

S- pine and citrus hop with some grapefruit notes, a bit of caramel malt sweetness

T- citrus hop, grapefruit notes, pine notes mid-palate, the back-end is quite sweet with caramel malt flavors. Dry finish with a lingering resin hop and tropical notes

M- medium body with moderate carbonation, somewhat thin mouthfeel with a bit of a foamy finish

O- some good flavors coming through, but they seem just a little off balance. Still enjoyable and easy drinking fie the ABV.

Pours copper and clear, forms a huge three finger crown of white lacing. Good retention on this one with loose smattered lacing.

Floral and piney hops with a backing of orange citrus. The malt adds some honey and bready sweetness for balance. A bit of dankness and lychee on the finish.

Bready malt has some caramel and honey sweetness and gets quite grainy near the finish. Hops are mild with orange citrus, pine and resin, some honeydew in there as well. Medium bitterness and some drying to go with a dull pine and touch of garlic.

Smooth and medium/easy body with enough carbonation. Alcohol is masked well and it does start to dry. The lingering grain and herbal/garlic edge is a turn off.

Highly drinkable IPA, smooth carbonation and light body. Hops are pedestrian IPA in strength with the melon flavor being the bright spot.

Cloudy, copper-orange. Thick, two finger, off-white head turns to a pretty solid cap. Good lacing.

Extremely resinous right off the bat. Pine and resin are definitely the dominant force. Some grapefruit sneaks past after it sits a little bit.

Just like the nose the pine resin rules the taste. Get a sense of malt before finishing earthy and floral. Slightly resinous aftertaste. Medium body with good prickly carbonation.

Pretty straight forward. Easy drinker. No complaints, but I can easily grab an assortment of comparable brews off any shelf.

Poured from 12oz can into a pint glass.

Appearance: medium orange with a haze-free body and a moderate effervescence. Head is two fingers of tan foam with a bit of an orange cast. I rather like it.

Smell: funky, grapefruity hops dominate the aroma, but a little bit of caramel sweetness comes through from the malt. A little bit messy, but overall not bad at all.

Taste: a raspy bitterness comes through right up front and maintains through the finish. Piney, funky, citrusy hops are strong and dominating, although the sweetness is pretty high for balance. Pretty good, but it lacks finesse.

Mouthfeel: medium body with a light-to-medium carbonation. Not particularly creamy, but prickly enough for the style.

Overall: this is a pretty good IPA if you like 'em rough & ready. Unrefined, but unapologetic.

on tap at the brewery

Poured a crystal clear amber with a very durable off-white head that left good lacing.

Aroma and flavor reflect more piney than citrusy hops; so not my ideal. Some herbal aspects mid-taste on. Moderately bitter (for style). Body is smooth but a tad too light. Very good carbonation.

O: a solid IPA with no apparent flaws but not particularly outstanding in any way.
