Have this on tap @ 3 different places in town. this review is from notes near first of the year.

A: dark off yellow with a small head. served @ 36F, too cold. spare lacing, lots of bubbles. clear body, filtered.

S: Strong hops detected..more like an IPA. Very little malt, or sweetness detected in nose. Pine, some grapefruit.

T: WOW dales IPA/APA clone surprise. lol. again too be expected the brewer learned on w/c is a hop head. If he relabeled it a IPA it might be closer to style, AN APA its not. its an unbalanced mess. oily, sticky tasting mess.

M: semi smooth until you gag on the hops. Nice Carbonation.

O: I keep trying it hoping it get better, but so far, its not my thing, hop lovers, may like it, maybe.

I know these folks are trying but many of them need to apprentice under a real experienced brewer before they decide to open a brewery IMHO. but since folks in this town are hurting many take what they can get I guess. Still overpriced @ brewery for 14OZ.

A: half to single finger head. Clear and amber.

S: really have to try to find an aroma with this one. Not there in a significant way per my nose.

T: this is a great representative of its genre. Hoppy and crisp however not overwhelming. Aftertaste of hops lingers. Oily to some extent. Citrus and pine notes.

M: medium body. Oily and moderate carbonation.

O: a great pale ale. The first beer I had by this brewer and a "go to" beer where available.

On tap at Mellow Mushroom

A-Pours a copper/bronze color with a one finger off white head that has good retention and leaves some lacing.

S-Surprisingly hoppy for a PA. Nice citrus and floral notes are very prominent and are complemented with a noticeable caramel malt back. The nice thing is the hops are clearly at the forefront with the malt playing nicely in the background.

T-Follows the nose with a nice and bitter hop bite-citrus and floral-leading the caramel malt comes in the middle but maintains its role as a supporting player letting the hops shine. Its not incredibly complex, but it is darn good and refreshing. If I hadn't seen the was a PA on the beer menu, I'd be inclined to think it was an IPA. Nicely done! One of the tastier PA I've had. And its a local too with the brewery being 20 min. from my house. I'm not being a homer. To be honest, I wasn't expecting much here, but Intuition delivered on this one. A very nice beer.

M-Crisp, medium body and carbonation, yet its just a touch oily on the finish.

O-A very enjoyable PA that I will certainly be enjoying again. A great summer beer. I wish I could grade in .25 increments. I can't quite give this one a 4.5 overall, but I would give it a 4.25. But, I can't do that, so it'll have to be a 4 overall.

Poured on-tap at the brewery in JAX, this beer was poured in a pint glass. The beer pours a cloudy yellowish orange-gold coloring with a very thin film of off white, small bubbled head. Light, roasty hops characteristics on the nose. There are strong sweet and syrupy caramel flavors in the backbone of this beer, with subtle peppery hops that mingle throughout, as well as mainline the finish. The aftertaste is almost astringent it's so dry. Creaminess to the aftertaste is very confusing considering the finish, but the beer is pretty damn tasty.

Served in a standard pint at the Green Turtle in Fernandina Beach, the beer is bronze with clingy beige head.

It has an aroma of cascades and caramel malts. Reminds me of a Point cascade and that's not a bad thing.

The taste is in lock step with the smell, piney hops, some caramel malts for balance a bit grainy late. You have seen this before and they execute it in spades.

The mouth is spot on with mid-level carbonation and a bit of mouth coating oiliness.

I know APAs don't excite that many people, but this one is well executed!

pint at a Florida pub very near brewery.

A fine clear amber color covered by a thin head that soon dissipates to some islands and a ring, but leaves some lacing on glass. {a second sample several monthas later had a more durable head). Dark for a pale ale, the appearance accurately indicates a boldy flavored pale ale.

A nice hoppy aroma with obvious citrus and piney notes. The flavor is more citrusy and less piney than the aroma. It is also more hoppy than their Simcoe IPA (consumed just 2 days earlier). Its really quite bitter and hoppy for a pale ale and will appeal to many people who like IPAs. Good to very good, but I'd like it better with a bit more malt.

Poured into a pint glass on tap at Kickbacks in JAX
Reviewed from notes

A-pours burnt yellow with a sticky rocky head made of large bubbles. A little fizzy fanfare is holding up the head with some bubbles running of the sides of the beer. Not Bad.

S-Smells really hoppy for a pale right of the bat. Mostly bitter hops with some floral sneaking in after the initial sniff. As it warms up a bit some citrus comes in as well.

T-Very hoppy surprise. Lots of bitter and citrus notes that are pretty flavorful. Nothing in the way of malt to back them up so its pretty un-balanced. Could use some more complexity but still a good start.

M-Fizzy and full for a pale. Carbonation is Perfect.

D-overall a great tasty beer. Could use some more malt in there to make it more interesting but Other than that drink-ability is great.
