A nice light ale for the summer time. Really enjoyed this for the first time at the Floridian Restaurant in St Augustine. It actually tastes like it was made for drinking while floating on a jon boat on a slow river around here in Northeast Florida. Goes great with seafood and it is a very successful ale for what it is.

Jon Boat from Intuition Ale Works 4.5% alcohol... poured into a pint glass.

A- Yellow straw colored fluid with mild carbonated head that drops to a light froth.

S- Sweet corn and dextrin upfront with a light scent of floral hops and tangy yeast.

T-M- Lemon like hops upfront with the rundown of tight bitter floral bite. Average mill of ale malts sweeten this beer to a so so taste. Mild yeast/ dextrin flavor on the afterbite. Watery and lightly astringent finish makes this the hit or miss... mostly a miss.

Good but no cigar for drinkablity...

A- pours a clear golden-straw color with a fizzy white head that reduces to leave just a bit of head floating on top

S- crisp grainy malt, straw, slightly sweet and earthy with some faint herbal hop

T- sweet wheaty malt and a but yeasty, the finish is crisp and bone dry with a hint of grass/citrus linger

M- light and thin body with medium carbonation, slightly fizzy mouthfeel with a slick finish

O- not a bad choice for a hot summer day, very light on the palate and mouthfeel. It serves its purpose, but isn't a choice if you're looking for a boat load of flavor.

I really like the color of this exceptionally bright colored Kolsch. The color was golden but incredibly Crystal clear with a vastly thin quickly fleeting head. It resembled a white wine in some respects.

The scent was bready, crackery and slightly sweet but very, very light.

The taste was also bready, almost doughy, with a touch of hops at the end.

This had the potential to be a very good hot weather beer but it feels very sharp in the swallow, almost prickly.

Served on tap in a 16 oz conical pint glass at the Intuition Brew Pub in Jacksonville, FL (November 18, 2011). Cheers to Brent for suggesting the place.

Eyes: Pours a pale golden straw color with good clarity. The near white head is moderate, as is the lacing, which are both typical for the style.

Nose: A weak albeit clean aroma, light bread with a touch of grass. Some mild fruit also (apple?).

Tongue: Another area that's a bit mild, but very good. Not particularly crisp for the style, but the malty & wheat character combine with the aforementioned fruit. Some apple and pear evident.

Mouth: An appropriately carbonated profile with a crisp, dry finish. Light-bodied.

Libation: I asked the bartender, but she wasn't aware of the ABV, but I'll guess it's somewhere around 5 and 6 percent, as it wasn't boozy at all. Although this is quite mild, it's exactly that feature which makes this such a quality brew. Very light and drinkable, but not compromising on taste.

I was surprised by this one. I had it straight out of a can and even then it was very fragrant - straight up biscuit. I actually got it poured into a pint glass the next time and I swear it was not as fragrant that way. Weird. But now I go straight out of the can every time.

It was really enjoyable and had a nice tang to it. It has a sort of sour biscuit dough thing going on. It makes you want to keep taking another sip and another. I end up finishing them really quickly.

It's not going to beat out some complex stout but as a session beer it's a real winner. I could drink a dozen of these. I didn't think it was as insubstantial as some here have said. I didn't expect to think much of it but did. Really nice flavor. This has become the go-to session beer for my friends and me. Makes me want to try other kolsches.
