Intuition Jon Boat from a can poured into a pilsner type glass at 3 Forks in Jacksonville. The beer is a chill hazed gold with a sticky off-white head.

It has an aroma of fruit and grains.

Taste leads with grains and some light floral notes. There is a touch of fruit and some hops (magnums) add a touch of almost metallic bitterness.

The mouth is crisp and on the lighter side which would make this one easy to session.

I really like the color of this exceptionally bright colored Kolsch. The color was golden but incredibly Crystal clear with a vastly thin quickly fleeting head. It resembled a white wine in some respects.

The scent was bready, crackery and slightly sweet but very, very light.

The taste was also bready, almost doughy, with a touch of hops at the end.

This had the potential to be a very good hot weather beer but it feels very sharp in the swallow, almost prickly.

Poured from a can into a shaker pint, the beer is a hazy, straw gold coloring with some carbonation action and a thin, filmy, white head. Aromas of honey, toasted grains, floral highlights, and some hops bitterness. Flavors are tangy and toasted grain forward, with a sweet, buttery follow, and a peppery, bitter hops end flavor. Light, frothy body with a solid peppery and bitter aftertaste. Effervesced, frothy finish. Light, refreshing, but there are better representations of the style.

Poured from 12oz can into a pint glass.

Appearance: medium gold hue with a moderate haze and a metric ton of effervescence. Head poured a finger of frothy ivory foam but is subsiding pretty quickly. Not too bad!

Smell: malty with a light, dusty yeastiness which I like. The only problem here is that it's a bit too sweet.

Taste: very much like the aroma, although there's also a light noble hop character and bitterness toward the end. Actually, I'm finding now that the bitterness grows on the palate with each sip. It's a bit drier than the aroma, but still there's something about the flavor that lacks balance. Certainly not bad, but not outstanding.

Mouthfeel: light body with a creaminess which is big at first but ultimately evanescent. Not too bad.

Overall: this is a decent Kölsch, and admittedly quite welcome during this heat wave we're having. However, it lacks the kind of balance which would promote its drinkability and overall desirability.
