Shared bomber bottle.
Not great looking but a very drinkable DIPA with very good balance and near moderate bitterness. Light colored but ample malts.
Somewhat light body with medium+ carbonation.

Look: A clear, dark Amber, with a tall and bubbly cream-colored head. Leaves spotty lacing as the beer is depleted.
Smell: Tropical fruit hits you like a breeze at a resort. Passion fruit, pineapple, and even some coconut mix with a faint floral scent. A little citrus wafts along the top along with some light malt and resinous hops.
Taste: Maltier than other DIPAs, with a toasty, verging on roasty quality which definitely adds to the bitterness level. The tropical fruit flavors, while present, are almost swallowed up by the malt, their softness turning the flavor towards coffee with cream and sugar.
Mouthfeel: Silkier than other examples of the style, but still crisp. The carbonation is moderate. I normally prefer my IPAs to have a lot of fizz, but this elegant operator doesn't need tons of bubbles to impress. The light alcohol warming is barely detectable.
Overall: An interesting specimen. Certainly not your typical DIPA. I'm somewhat put off by the fact that the fruit in the aroma doesn't quite come through in the taste; the disconnect leaves me feeling a little disoriented. There are definitely some meritorious elements here, however, and while the malty character may not be "to style," its uniqueness is appreciable.
