Copper colored beer with great clarity. A minuscule layer of white head is on top. light Brussels lacing Intense pine hop aroma greats my nose. I get a strong burst of pine hops flavor at the front of the palate. There seems to be bit of an imbalance here as I don't get much malt coming to back it up. Mouth is moderately carbonated and there's a lot of bitterness pricking the tongue.

Poured into a standard pint glass a clear amber infused deep golden with almost no head even after a fairly hard pour, just a thin quick to fade white head.Aromas are all San Diego IPA in its big citrus and resiny notes,a subtle but noticeable caramel malt element is there as well.Flavors have a deep fruitiness not just grapefruit and tangerine wich is expected, but also a bit of tropical fruit as well, its big and resiny late.A bit of a dull feel but its pretty full in nature, another good left coast IPA to seek out here.

Appearance - This poured a golden orange in color with a nice, easy, slightly off-white head.
Smell - This is a nice bouquet leaning towards heavy hops. They are full of fresh, aromatic pine that is not overly resiny and mixed with some wonderful tangerine and to a lesser extent grapefruit. The malt certainly plays the lesser role but is not to be undone as it has wonderful caramel flavor that's not overly sweet. All in all it is a terrific, natural aroma.
Taste - The hops surprisingly carry over well into the taste. They are still with a little more grapefruit than shown at the nose and the malts are rich and again not overly sugared or falsely sweet. The two main characters, the hops and the malts, mate extremely well putting this IPA way above average. There's also a slight nutty taste that just adds to the complexity.
Mouthfeel - This is a very slick and rightly bittered medium-sized IPA that lingers dryly on the palate.
Drinkability - I developed a personal affinity for this beer as the night wore on. It is well-balanced with quality ingredients and unique enough to stand out from the pack. It doesn't hit you with a sledgehammer but is serious and just raw enough to make ya say hmmm.

On tap at the Yard House in Waikiki.
A - Clear darker-golden amber body with a thin off-white head that receded and deposited a thin web of lacing around the rim of the glass.
S - Moderate hop character suggesting floral notes with some citrus fruit. Malt is sweet and caramely with a touch of toasted grains.
T - Citrus hops dominate the flavor with a touch of floral and perfumy notes. Hops are backed by a sweet caramel and grainy malt backbone.
M - Medium bodied wity a light syrupy texture, although a bit watery overall. Carbonation is moderate with a slight prickly sensation and subtle alcohol warmth on the palate.
D - While this is a very good IPA overall, it doesn't strike me as West Coast. However, it is well-balanced with a nice hop kick and lots of flavor.

A beer I had never heard of until today, I decided to give it a chance. The pour was nice with a clear orange color and good head retention and lace. The smell was quite earthy with a bit of an off putting sourness in the background. The taste was quite good, though a bit one dimensional. Hops of course took the foreground with a very piney flavor and good carbonation, but the malt was nowhere to be found. If you are looking for a hop bomb this is a good beer, but fans of balance will be a bit disappointed.

Nice looking golden IPA with a lingering white foamy head.
Smells a bit like the outside of a brewery. Extracty.
Tastes ok. Piney IPA that finishes clean.
A little syrupy pine in your cheeks, but it doesn't linger offensively.
Overall, ok but nothing special for a california IPA. If I was in Coronado for some reason, a visit would not be a must based on this experience.

Pours a pale gold, with good white head, great lacing, great head retention, thick collar. Aroma is pale malt breadiness, citrus hops (orange and lemon) and pineapple (maybe a hint of mango). Taste is very lightly bitter, the citrus and tropical fruits play well together, with the orange taking center stage. A bit watery in the mouthfeel - light body and medium carbonation.

22 oz bottle pours a clear pumpkin orange body with a creamy, two finger offwhite head. Good retention and lavish island chain lacing.
Aroma is west coast hops. Pine, grapefruit, and grass.
Mouthfeel is medium in body and carbonation with a hop zing.
Taste is dry and bitter in a hoppy sense. C hops dominate, with little suggestion of any malt presence or hint of sweetness. Finishes bitter as well.
Solid westcoast American IPA, but a bit bitter and one-sided with hops for my palate.

On tap at the brewery in beautiful Coronado, CA, just outside of Hoptown USA, San Diego, Ca., pours light peach amber, slightly couldy, with a near white head and leaving plenty of fine lacing. Nose is the expected grapefruit, and other hoppy wiffs. This is yet another SD style hop bomb, tons of grapefruit, medium bodied, with a long citric finish. Tasty, high quality brew. Recommended.

Serving glass: Poured from bottle into wine glass.
Appearance: Cloudy orange with decent white head.
Smell: Orange, grapefruit and some spicy notes. A little mild.
Taste: Orange and grapefruit is dominant, fairly sweet. The malts are sweet as well. Some light spiciness and bitterness on the finish, along with lingering citrus.
Feel: Somewhat full bodied and juicy. Carbonation is in check. Dry finish.
Overall: Citrusy, juicy IPA, but not as good as other top notch West Coast IPAs.

Coronado islander served in a bottle! Pours a darkish copper and instantly smells of piney bitterness. Defies the west coast style IPA paradigm here with english style heavy malting and minimal flowery aroma. Very bitter, medium bodied with harsh biting carbonation, and a nutty overall theme. Among the sea of IPAs saturated in the CA market, this almost reminds me of a mediocre rendition of a Drakes IPA. The 7% alcohol is also very noticeable here and somehow combines with the malt character to give a punch in the face. Not my personal favorite but It's probably good enough for some to enjoy.
