Poured into stemmed red wine glass from 22oz bottle.

Appearance is of a pale almost white frothy one finger head that leaves a nice lacing as it subsides, sits atop a pleasing orange/amber translucent brew.

Smell is bicuity, slightly dank, a tropical fruity hops aroma. Quite enjoyable.

The flavor is excellent. I had this on tap recently and it had an intriguing buttery flavor, but from the bottle it is far more traditional west coast IIPA. The flavor upfront is a prevalent smooth hop, a hint of spicy acidic tropical fruit...maybe mango. Changing over nicely to a lightly buttered biscuit top malt flavor. I really enjoy this brew, it's somewhere in between a Green Flash West Coast IPA and a Bell's Two Hearted. The bitterness and overall profile is closer to the Green flash, but the tropical fruitiness is more Two Hearted to me. There is some alcohol warming which, strangely for me at least, comes on the mid tongue rather than in the back of the throat.

Mouthfeel is pleasant, the carbonation gives it a lighter mouthfeel for an IIPA which is both enjoyable and more drinkable. I'm not a fan of thick IIPA's although they represent a good portion of the style.

This is a drinkable brew, I finished the bomber myself while writing this review, but the higher abv would keep me from drinking more than s couple in a row, also the taste tends to linger for a longish time. This can be nice, but depending on my mood or where/what else I'm drinking, can be a detractor.

Nice to see a new line of Cali beers here in Greensboro.Poured into a imperial pint glass a hazed mix of burnt orange and copper,a tight formed one finger egg shell colored head atop.Big citric and floral aromas, really fresh and pungeant.Flavors are not overly sweet and alcoholic like alot of DIPA's,big resiny hop flavors with some citric fruitiness, the malt is sweetish and holds up well to the hops. The alcohol is well hidden and it stills packs a pretty good hop punch,a nice beer.

Appearance - This is a beauty shop. The golden liquid is lightly toned with orange and the beautiful white head puffed up just right and showed great retention.

Smell - This has a righteous hop bouquet and is perfectly balanced with pine, herbs, and a wonderful juicy orange citrus. The malts though are largely absent.

Taste - The grain comes out more in the taste. It is a bit rough around the edges but still quite pleasant. The hops flavor is just as good at the tongue as it was on the nose. The citrus that I enjoyed so much at the smell comes on even a bit more at the taste.

Mouthfeel - This is medium-bodied but just barely with some light carbonation and a good amount of bitterness.

Drinkability - This is an easy-going ale. If it really is a double it's borderline though, but classifications aside it is quite enjoyable.

A bomber poured into a snifter. Gold/amber color, slight haze. Thick off-white head resembling whipped cream. A lot of lace.

A lot of sweet malt in the aroma. Big citrus aroma also, as well as some peppery hops.

Predominately grapefruit taste, sweet biscuit, late piney hops.

One of the sweetest DIPAs I've tried. Well-hopped, not overly aggressive. Very smooth.

Will look for this again during my stay in Albuquerque.

Coronado Idiot IPA, 2010

Pours resembles a non filtered copper cider with a resilient white head. Strong smell of oranges and pine trees. The taste is a bright boquet of hops, hops, hops, and more hops that lingers on the tongue for an extended amount of time. The body is crisp, yet strong enough to please any pallet any time of the year. If you're not a hop lover than choose to pass.

A- On tap less than 1finger head, quickly gone. Nice golden to copper tones and slightly hazey. Mountains of lacing on the glass and legs that look like waterfalls.

S-strawberry and citrus noted very heavy. Nice fruity and balanced smell. Medium hop character to the nose.

T- balanced fruity bitterness:
Pine, Strawberry, grapefruit, and and tangerine finish.

M-medium carbonation on the front of the tongue and a bite from enough hops in the back of the palate. Smooth finish with a slightly dry mouthfeel.

O- a nice DIPA that packs enough punch at 8.5, this one I consider a solid choice.

Bomber bottle, w/o freshness/bottling info. Purchased in Southington, CT

Darker amber, clouded, frothy, fine, lasting and leaving nice looking and extensive lace...

Hopped up nose, god I love San Diego DIPAs....

Dense and hop infused DIPA. Hops crunching...smooth, tasty and highly enjoyable...Definitely going to buy more of this at the next opportunity

Appearance is pale and a bit hazy. That might be chill haze.

Smell is wonderful - mostly tropical, with some citrus. For the hops on the bottle, I'm surprised there's so little pine.

There's some pine in the flavor, but not much else. I don't get much malt, although it doesn't taste like hop tea so there's "enough" there. I'm a non-taster, so I can't tell you how much bitterness is in this brew, but I'm guessing it's what us East-Coasters call a "hop bomb".

Mouthfeel is good - enough sweetness to linger, without being thick.

Overall, this is a nice IPA in terms of hop aroma and flavor, but not something I could drink a lot of.

Pours clear auburn with a stocky white head. Rich aroma of piney hops, grapefruit, and a bit of peaches. Oily mouthfeel. Tangy citrus flavors mix well with the resiny and peppery hops. Still that hint of peaches. Kind of makes it taste lighter than it is. Good stuff.
