12 ounce bottle poured into a snifter.

A: Pours a mostly clear orange color with a half finger head and some lacing.

S: Lots of citrus and floral hops.

T: Citrus and piney hops but not much else. Quite bitter.

M: Medium bodied with good carbonation.

O: Not a bad IPA, but somewhat one sided. I would drink it again if someone brought it over, but I wouldn't seek it out.

Appearance is pale and a bit hazy. That might be chill haze.

Smell is wonderful - mostly tropical, with some citrus. For the hops on the bottle, I'm surprised there's so little pine.

There's some pine in the flavor, but not much else. I don't get much malt, although it doesn't taste like hop tea so there's "enough" there. I'm a non-taster, so I can't tell you how much bitterness is in this brew, but I'm guessing it's what us East-Coasters call a "hop bomb".

Mouthfeel is good - enough sweetness to linger, without being thick.

Overall, this is a nice IPA in terms of hop aroma and flavor, but not something I could drink a lot of.

Appearance- light orange copper with wispy head after initial dissipation

Smell- nice floral and citrus, present but not overpowering

Taste- like an IPA should be, initial bitterness with little maltiness, hoppiness remaining in the back of the mouth briefly

Mouthfeel- lightly carbonated, light watery feel

Overall- A solid American IPA with pleasant citrus hop crispness. A keeper.

Type: 22-oz. bottle
Glass: Karl Strauss pint glass
From: Village Square Liquor & Keg
Price: $7.49
Misc.: Got a California Prop 65 Warning: Some materials used in the colored decorations on this container contain cadmium, a chemical known to the State of California to cause birth defects or other reproductive harm.

Poured an orange, caramel and slightly hazy with two fingers of frothy white head, which took a long while to disappear. Thick, foamy, wet and sporadic lacing on the sides. Nice retention on the top all the way down.

Smelled a potent whiff of citrus and floral hops. Got orange and actually reminded me of an orange creamsicle. A whiff of tropical flavors. Sugary sweet floral hops. Very appealing overall.

Tasted similar to the nose, but not quite as potent (or good). I’m bad at naming specific types of hops. The bottle says Cascade, Centennial, Chinook and Columbus. I recognize all but Chinook, but Columbus seems to be the one I taste here. Also citrus (orange and light tangerine) and still some light tropical notes (reminded me of tropical bubble gum). Very bitter on the tongue after.

Light-to-medium body. Creamy texture. Average-to-lively (above average) carbonation. Bitter finish.

Just a good double IPA overall. I haven’t been a fan over the other Coronado beer I’ve tried, so I was excited to have a good one. Would definitely have this again.

thanks to pelican5 for sending me a six pack of this! poured a 12oz bottle in to a wine glass. body is a slightly hazy orange. a half inch of white tight nit suds settles in to a ring of lace. smells very floral and grapefruity. taste is mainly grapefruit with a little lemon and some sugary malts in the background. this beer is nicely carbonated but seems a tad thin for being a dipa. plenty of oily hops present on the tongue and cheeks. dry bitter finish lasts a little too long for me. i think my biggest knock on this beer is the lingering bitterness on the finish, like a burnt toast bitterness to me. other than that this is very drinkable and the abv is hidden well enough.
