thanks to pelican5 for sending me a six pack of this! poured a 12oz bottle in to a wine glass. body is a slightly hazy orange. a half inch of white tight nit suds settles in to a ring of lace. smells very floral and grapefruity. taste is mainly grapefruit with a little lemon and some sugary malts in the background. this beer is nicely carbonated but seems a tad thin for being a dipa. plenty of oily hops present on the tongue and cheeks. dry bitter finish lasts a little too long for me. i think my biggest knock on this beer is the lingering bitterness on the finish, like a burnt toast bitterness to me. other than that this is very drinkable and the abv is hidden well enough.

I have a hard time finding the smell and flavor associated with the 4 "Cs" of hops. I can honestly say, this beer is totally satisfying. Had one this weekend and had to go back for more. If you like strong grapefruit smell backed up with a dry citrus flavor, this one is for you. Will definitely keep this on my "go to" list when I want a bitter, citrus beer. Highly recommended!

smells floral... hoppy... crisp... i like to smell it before I pour then smell it again after...it smells like you'd expect from a California IPA... love those California IPAs...

pours a nice orange wheat color... thin head... looks clean and crisp.. matches its smell...

nice finish... not real assertive upfront... and it's mouthfeel is decent... not the greatest IPA... but a good one... I would expect more mouthfeel from an Imperial IPA surprisingly well balanced for the style... this will probably hit me hard.. 8.5%

with more and more sips I'm starting to appreciate the MF a little more... i'm upping the anti in that category...

taste is refreshing too...

First had: on tap at TJ's, Paoli, PA

Hazy amber pour with a small foamy white head that retained well and left some nice lacing on the glass. Aroma was expectedly hoppy, pithy, bready malts just barely peeking through. Nice taste, citrusy hops, orange and grapefruit pith, underripe pineapple, pine needles, slight bready malt sweetness in the background. About spot-on average for the style. Medium body, fairly bitter and drying, higher ABV well-hidden. Nice overall.

A clean looking beer that pours clear wheat orange. The tan head is lackluster and fades quickly to a ring of bubbles on the edge and a thin skin of foam on the surface.

The nose is slightly above average with the scent of hops and malt both present but thankfully more weight toward the hop. A mix of pine and citrus are the building blocks here and light toasted grain in the background.

It tastes good and has a hop presence which you'd expect in an IPA but I don't feel the nose or the flavor profile warrants an imperial classification. Like the nose, the dominate flavor is the hop but it almost seems watered down. It's tasty with the same pine and citrus characteristics as the smell but not bold, sharp or distinct again making me question the imperial status.

The mouthfeel has a dusty element to it and is mildly carbonated adding to the lightness of the body. Pair that with the mild scent and taste and you have a good middle of the road beer that gets easily edged out by some hop aggressive pale ales. It's NOT a drain pour but an enjoyable average beer.

Pours a hazy amber golden color with a short, quickly evaporating with head. Vibrant grapefruit wafts into the olfactory like a designer perfume. Not too loud, but very appealing and sexy. Tantalizes nicely. The first pull fills the mouth with slick, wet liquid that finishes with a carbonation scrub and hop burn that balances the mouthfeel well. Flavors are mellow for a San Diego IPA, but the finish bitters with yellow grapefruit tartness. Very solid.

A - Honey colored with a one finger, off white, head that leaves decent retention. A little bit of dark, leafy, stuff floating around in the glass, but clear other than that.

S - Lots of citrus fruits: pineapple, grapefruit, passion fruit, etc... Very, very hop forward without a lot of the malts really getting in the way. Sweet!

T - Very nice sweet hops followed quickly by the bitter hops I crave. Taste is very piney and earthy. Not a whole lot of citrus flavor. Leaves a long lasting pine on your tongue that requires another drink to refresh. Not much malts until the hops wear off the tongue. I'd like to see a tad more citrus, but this is a superb beer for a Sunday night.

M - Medium body with a very oily hop film that lays on the palette. Not much in the way of carbonation. Pick up a little booze, but not bad.

O - Nice showing from Coronado Brewing. Really great flavor for the style and not really overly hopped.

As I pour a 12 oz. bottle into a pint glass, a nice thick head appears atop a beautiful bright gold/orangish brew.... The best part is that there's little bubbles that continuously rise in the beer throughout drinking it.... This brew also leaves a decent amount of lacing as you drink it.

I take a whiff, and I immediately get notes of citrus (like that of mostly grapefruit) with an apricot/peach scent.... Following that, there is some piney notes with a little caramel.

While sipping, there's a bunch of citrus with pine, bready malts, caramel, and it's ever so slightly hoppy on the palate.

I would describe the mouthfeel as medium bodied with amazing carbonation that leaves a great taste on the palate.

Overall, I really liked this "I.P.A.".... It's very distinct, easily drinkable, and has a delicious taste.... Doesn't have a huge alcohol taste for an I.P.A., and has a perfect balance.... Really enjoyable.
