Poured into a 13 oz tulip glass, bottled sometime in late 2011 can't tell if it is 10, 11, or 12 of 2011. Pours a cloudy reddish orange, with a one inch sticky head, that leaves a ring of lace. Smell is tangerine, pine, grass, and hints of grapefruit. Taste is similar with grapefruit and some hard candy. Body is medium, plenty of life, not very dry, and drinks easy enough. Wish the place that put a case of beer together could tell me that the IPA was over 6 months old. I am sure the score would be higher if it wasn't so past its prime. Not bad, especially considering its age.

Bomber from Pavillions Palm Desert for 6.49$

Appearance - Slightly hazy amber/copper colour with an average size fizzy and frothy off white coloured head. There is an average amount of carbonation and there is some good lacing. The head lasted for 5 minutes and there were some small particles floating around in the beer.

Smell - Malts, caramel, grapefruit, lots of resin/hops, tangerines, apricot

Taste & Mouth - There is an average amount of carbonation and I can taste tons of hops, malts, and caramel. There is also a good amount of fruit flavours like apricots, tangerines, pineapple, and grapefruit. It ends with a fruity yet quite bitter hop aftertaste.

Overall - This beer is definitely under rated in my opinion. It reminded me of a mix of sculpin and green flash. I've only had 2 coronado brews so far, but I loved them both and will be sure to check out the rest of their line up. If you like west coast style IPA/DIPA's, give this beer a try.

Pours a slightly hazy dark amber with two fingers of cream colored foam, settles to a quarter inch with a few blobs of lace left on the glass. Smell: alcohol, grapefruit, pot... and strawberries...? Taste: grapefruit, caramel, alcohol, pine, hint of sugary stone fruit. Feel goes from creamy to slick in no time flat. Not bad but ends up as a far too boozy (at only 8.5%!) ibu-fest instead of a flavorful dipa.

P- AOH from notes

A- a golden clear color with a 2 finger foamy head that leaves a nice lacing.

S- grapefruit and pine hops with no malts that i can tell.

T- grapefruit and sweet hops. the backend has some warm fuzziness.

M- dry and hoppy, just like an IPA. no malts that can tell but the hops come through.

O- a very good IPA but the excessive dryness from the hops got to me. This may be good for others but i like my IPA's a little les hoppy.

Serving Type - 22oz bottle

Appearance - Golden tan/yellow, 1/2 inch creamy head and good lacing.

Smell - Citric fruits, orange, pine, grapefruits, sweet malts, honey, lemon, some spices, and some added sugars.

Taste - Sweet citric hop punch with a backbone of light caramel malts. Orange, pine, lemon and grapefruit are dominate hop flavors. Malts are sweet, and add a bold flavor to the bitterness of the hops.

Mouthfeel - Strong hops coat mouth, bitter tounge and leave a hop resin. Malts add some bold caramel sweetness at the finish. Palette gets hops, some malts and a little alcohol. aAftertaste is bitter, sweet and warm.

Overall - Pretty good dipa, easy enough to drink and plenty of hops to enjoy. Nice addition of malts makes this slighty different then the standard dipa. Coronado makes some fine beer but are somewhat lost in the meca brewing state of california. I truly feel if they were a midwest, east coast brewery, they would get more reconition. Seek this brewery out.
