On tap at the Ojai Beverage Company, Ojai, CA.

Pour was a clean yellow-orange with good carbonation and a smooth head, which lasted a while and lined the glass.

Smell was full of hop, some citrus and pine. Very enticing to the nose. I sat and smelled this one for a good few minutes before tasting.

Taste initially very hop-forward and citrus/pine flavor, good hop flavor, much more balanced with sweetness and maltiness coming out after it warmed up—halfway through the glass really hit the sweet spot. Little bitterness or harshness, just smooth malt and sweetness supporting some excellent floral hop flavors. Finish is floral and smooth, no unexpected unpleasant bitterness.

Mouthfeel is not too syrupy at all despite the sweetness, doesn't stick to your mouth; not too thick or strong and very drinkable. Nice.

Overall, a great example of what I consider a west coast IPA. Classified as a DIPA but closer to a strong IPA to me, maybe a bit too balanced in favor of hops over body, but overall very enjoyable.

On draft at The Fridge, Lancaster PA

10 oz served in a 10 oz tulip glass, an acceptable glass, but I would have chosen another.

Pours a very nice, thick, ¼” head which quickly reduces to a thin cap, easily revived with a swirl, a live ale. Medium amber color, small bubble carbonation.

A big aroma of Piney/Citrus hops is the first thing to hit you in the smell and they dominate throughout the pour, there is some malt in the back ground.

A very distinct, crisp, entry on the palate of Piney hops, golden malt, with a lingering hop bitterness in the middle, absolutely delicious. As the ale warms, the hops take on a more citrus note, and a little more malt comes forward. Full body and excellent carbonation, which makes for a very balanced brew.

Very long, piney/citrus/bitter hop finish.

This is an excellent DIPA. Extremely enjoyable upfront hops, balanced with a crisp acidity, and just the right amount of sweet malt. Definitely in the high end of the DIPA’s I have had. Totally delicious and highly drinkable. Highly recommended.

Pours a hazy gold with a slight orange tinge. Very little head or lacing.

Citrus aroma, but with a healthy malt backbone.

Starts out with some citrus/lemon and a touch of grapefruit. A bit of sweet caramel malt almost sweeter than usual and finishes with a slight piney bitterness.

Mouthfeel is medium-low with good carbonation.

Decent beer. The hop profile seems a touch off for a reason I can't quite put my finger on and the malt is a touch sweet. Still not too bad.

Mostly a typical AD/ Imperial IPA nose but with a touch of cane sugar in there as well this has a nice light orangy golden colour. A half inch head with a slight glossiness on top gives some decent lacing too.
There's a fair carbonic start accompanied by a thickish malty reasonably full bodied structure that is reasonably well linked and integrated. A bit sappy too but not sickly and it ends without any one element being overly dominant.

There are some thrills here but it lacks some definition and individuality for it to be truly excellent. But there is a stealthy potency which creeps up on you and it is no less than very good to me. I'd be happy to have another.

12oz bottle (thanks smarcoly) poured into a tulip glass

A: Pours hazy golden orange/light copper with a finger of white head, moderately tight bubbles, leaves a good bit of lacing.

S: Pine, grapefruit, some floral notes, lots of dank herbal notes. A fairly strong nose of caramel (for a DIPA).

T: Pretty similar to the nose. Lots of floral notes (more than the nose), some dank herbal qualities, grapefruit, and some orange. Almost DIPA like sweetness dominates the middle. Finish is still a little sweet with a little alcohol burn and taste noticeable.

M: Medium to slightly full body. Slick and a little oily (hop resin and sweetness), though it's not that clean or crisp with more alcohol touch then I'd like.

O: A DIPA that blurs the line between the style and a barleywine. Big, thick, sweet, with a strong hop presence and alcohol bite. A little more c-hops and aged over oak and I might really like this. As is it's just a little too far off.

poured a nice honey golden with a white head that laced well.

OOOFAHHHH with the west coast style hops, as my publican told me as filling my growler, a new fav. WOW citrus and bread with all that seems.

Creamy creamsicle grapefruit style with all that make for goodness.

OOHFFAH the creamy goodness is wherer it is at.

Drink deeply my friend!
