This was interesting.

Pours similar to the Coronado Orange Ave, but a little lighter in color, when put to the light. This is a very similar brew. Both are pale body, light and citrus backed. Both have the orange taste lingering in the body, however... this one has a sweetness that the regular Orange Ave doesn't have. Which makes this slightly different to the palate.

This is a good representation of the Witbier.

Pours a pale filtered wheat, bright fluffy white head. Aroma has orange peel hints of honey and spices with coriander and chammomile. Flavor semi sweet spicy flavor with honey and orange peel in the background of this witbier. Mouthfeel is dry semi sweet with a light to medium bodied spices really coat the palate, drinkable for sure especially in warmer weather.

The color is a very pale sort of orange. It's thickly hazed and has a moderate translucence to it. The head is fluffy and white, almost one finger tall with good retention and a modicum of spotting and patching intermingled.
It smells like orange peel, zest and juice with a bit of yeast under a dry pale malt. A hint of kitchen spices with a touch of sweetness also lingers a little.
Orange is the primary focus in this beer under almost thick malts with a tangy/dry wheat presence. Gentle spiciness sits through underneath, and there's an earthy overtone to it. Orange peel bitterness is light and constant.
This beer is unusually thick, its medium body quite big for a Wit. It still has a certain softness, though. It's brightly crisp all the way through. I want to score it higher but for slightly too much of a syrupy/sticky thing going on and only a moderate smoothness.

650ml bottle. Sexy mermaiden schooner-purveyor depicted on the typically well-rendered label for this brewer.

This beer pours a slightly hazy, medium golden straw hue, with two fingers of moderately puffy, bubbly dirty white heady, which leaves a somewhat low berm of pockmarked landfall lace around the glass as rather quickly abates.

It smells of semi-sweet fruity orange, savoury coriander, grainy wheat and pale malt, very mild lemon, yeast, and traditional banana wit notes. The taste is sweet mandarin orange and lemon citrus zest, middling earthy yeast, grainy, mostly dry wheat malt, banana chips, a touch of neutered clove spiciness, and an earthy, somewhat weedy drying hoppiness. Nothing really honey-like presents itself at any point in this whole affair.

The carbonation is a tad frothy, but generally just a supportive understatement, the body actually a sturdy medium weight for the style, but lacking anything resembling a serious smoothness quotient. It finishes off-dry, the fruity citrus really the star, as the yeast, wheat, and spice blend into a generic swirl of umami which does well by its innocuousness.

A sort of middle-range witbier, one tempered by a straight-up citrus fruit and sweetness, but lacking the edgy yeast and grain characters necessary to provide the expected balance. Of course, this offering somehow finds its way around that particular dichotomy, one which I'm still trying to figure out. So, if you take one thing from all of this, it should be: orange, and all the things that rhyme with it (man, I just can't get away from the 90's alt-rock references tonight. Oh well).

A - Cloudy orange pour with a bubbly white foam head. Slight lacing.

S - Strong citrus smell with a bit of yeast and zest. Some coriander spice lingers.

T - Decent flavor of light grains and tart orange flavor. Finish is mildly spiced.

M - Easy drinking witbier with good drinkability. Good BBQ beer pairing.

O - Just a solid wheat beer with some strong citrus notes. Better to have orange in your beer this way than what Blue Moon does.

22oz bottle

A- Pours a hazy golden yellow color with an off-white head with good retention and lacing.

S- The aroma is pale wheat, spices, honey and hints of citrus zest along with some yeast.

T- The taste like the aroma is wheat along with some spices, some nice citrusy flavors, and some hops and yeast in the finish.

M- The mouthfeel is light to medium bodied with a good amount of carbonation.

O- Overall, this is a decent Wit but nothing I would purchase again.

Pours a hazy gold color with a thin eggshell head that retains OK. The aroma has some spices upfront (corriander, clove, orange peel) along with a little biscuit, bandaid, wax and some fruitiness. The flavor is similar to the aroma with spices upfront, along with a little hay, some orange and lemon, wax, bandaid and funk and some alcohol. The mouthfeel is light and drinkability is OK. This is a decent wit but it's astringent and has a weird bandaid flavor/aroma that is offputting.
