Poured into an 8 oz. glass nearly jet black except for a some ruby highlights when held up,a thinner beige head atop.Dry earthiness and french roast coffee in the nose, very dry.Dry and earthy on the palate, maybe to dry, tated almost dirty with no sweetness to counter-balance dry earthiness and roast.I like a dryer earthy stout but this may have been a little over the top in the category for me.

22 oz bottle. Pours dark brown with a medium creamy tan head that goes to a thin film and leaves a little lacing.

The aroma is fudgy chocolate malts with a lot of nice roast coffee.

The flavor is sweet chocolate malts some some slightly acidic roast coffee. The mouthfeel is medium bodied and fairly watery.

Overall, a decent coffee stout.

32 ounce growler purchased this evening at Carmine St. Beer in NYC, NY.

Pours dark dark brown, loose dark mocha head, that stays decently, and then goes to a frothy film and leaves ample high tongues of stick.

Milk chocolate and cafe au lait nose.

Medium to lighter bodied for a stout.

More chocolate and muted coffee notes. Smooth, quite easy and pleasant drinking.

More coffee grounds come out as it warms up a bit. Nice stout, that worth trying...

On tap at the Orange Street brewpub location.

Pours black with a good, durable tan head that leaves lots of sticky lacing.

Aroma: black coffee with a trace of hops.

Taste: black coffee; touch of hops; faint dark roasted malts. Medium bitterness. Good coffee flavor. Very good sweet/bitter balance.

Feel: thin body; smooth; medium carbonation.

O: Well-crafted, light version of the style that's is heavy on the coffee flavor

Big rich light brown head settles into a nice lacing above a clear super dark brown to black colored beer.

Rich black coffee to coffee grounds aroma with any cream or sugar.

Big black coffee taste with some of the dark roasted malt characteristics coming through nicely.

A dryish after taste with the feel of a creamy bakers chocolate on this full bodied stout.

I'm not much of a coffee drinker but this stuff might help sway me.

650ml bottle, 5.4% ABV. Man, the coffee-infused beers are coming out hard and fast as of late.

This beer pours a solid, abyssal black, with ever the slightest of basal bronze highlights, and three imposing fingers of puffy, densely foamy mocha head, which leaves some nicely consistent, loose chain cog pattern lace around the glass as it slowly and evenly abates.

It smells of somewhat bitter, dry roasted coffee beans, baker's chocolate, lightly toasted bready malt, rather dry salted caramel, and some earthy, mildly herbal hops. The taste is quite similar, but more rounded - bolder medium sweet cocoa, fuller, softer coffee grounds, a still struggling grainy caramel malt, some clammy black licorice notes, a touch of charcoal, and very faint hints of a earthy hop bitterness.

The carbonation is pretty average, and good at it, the body medium-light in weight, with a rather dry edginess, which is cold coffee all the way, and makes smoothness a hard sell here. It finishes just a tad off-dry, the plaintive wails of the caramel/toffee malt gaining a now surprising tenor, as the bitter coffee and chalky cocoa sit back and light a cigar by the fire.

A moderately dry Yankee stout, for those caffeine freaks out there - you can certainly taste the guest ingredient in this one. I have to give credit, however, for as strong as the coffee initially seems, there's enough else going on to keep the rest of us non-users and non-early risers happy.
