Clear golden amber in the Duvel tulip. Nice white foam with some lacing, but it doesn't stick around with any conviction. However, it's pleasantly spritzy in the mouth. Very fragrant with a odd but interesting fruitiness.
Plenty of the big hop flavors. Eventually the long bitterness catches up, but it's not a bite right off. Light bodied and tangy. Some plain malt flavors with a fair amount of sweetness. Hot and fumey with alcohol. Apple flavors with something tropical in the hops. Just a scratch of pine in the long bitter finish.
A fairly drinkable DIPA with plenty of octane. It's a nice hop flavor and the rest of the bottle will go to juice up the cheap lager. From the 22 oz bottle bought at Barons Marketplace on Point Loma Blvd.
