My Stone rep told me about this brew. Seemed kind of gimmicky, but I was pleasantly surprised.

Pours a clear pink with a bright white, 2 finger thick head. Smells beautifully floral (imagine that). The taste is unique and quite delicious, you get more of the earthy/bitter from the petals of the hibiscus vice the sweet nectar, and compliments the hop character perfectly. It has a clean and dry finish. Probably my favorite aspect of this beer is the fact that it is only 4.9% alcohol yet is an extremely floavorful IPA. This is a great beer to spend a lazy day by the pool drinking.

22oz bottle shared into a PizzaPort nonic style taster glass
Notes taken on 02/01/14

A: Pale and hazy caramel amber color. Has some whimsical soft peach and pinkish tones. Light course sea foam white lid with hints of pink to it as well. Lower retention noted with some splotchy patches of lace left clinging to the glass.

S: Smells of citrus hops mixed with some wildflowers mostly. Not a particularly potent bouquet. There is some light pine and herbals with earthy grass as well. And a bit of underlying malt sweetness coming through. Touch of oven fresh bread even. A fair aroma overall with a more restrained approach to the Hibiscus it seems.

T: Tastes like a standard American Pale with some delicately infused Hibiscus. Subtle and flowery but not terribly perfume like. Some muddled hops of citrus fruit, pine, and earthiness. There is moderate bitterness to the beer and a lightly bready malt base with a dash of caramel sweetness to it. Well balanced with the alcohol kept in good demeanor. Interesting enough to be pretty good.

M: Smooth with a light spritz from the carb. Moderately filling with a touch of drying at the finish. Slight resinous linger on the palate. Pretty clean overall.

D: This was a nice restrained approach with the flower additions. Delicate and well balanced. Not overly used to the point of tasting like a potpourri basket.
The Mrs. is digging on this one for sure.

Lovely orangey amber color. I wouldn't say there is much pink showing through, but that's the "Beer for Boobs" theme. Plentiful coarse foam in the New Belgium snifter. Centennial, Chinook, and Nugget hops are listed on the label, though there is not much actual hop taste.

Some maltiness to start, even a sweetness, and then that indefinable oddball taste we have to ascribe to the hibiscus. The fragrance is actually a nice flowery blend, with the fruity hop aroma. Tangy and just slightly bitter with more of a Pale Ale feel than an IPA. Overall this is a very flavorful lower-alcohol brew that proves to be quite thirst quenching.

A-Dark orange customary of IPA's with ruby highlights. You can literally look at this beer in another light endlessly. It can look gold, orange and rose. The head is rose gold that percolates and thins out quickly. Spotted dots of foam speck the glass. No connecting lacing. If head lasted this would be more pretty.

S-Strawberry. Pine. Orange. Lime. Lemon. A basket of fruits.

T-Primary smells follow the taste. Citrus. Red fruits. Strawberry. Sour cherry. Honey dipped malts. Low/medium hops. I get strawberry the most on the start, malty-hoppy medium and a hibiscus cooling finish. Like fresh mint. Resin floats up on the aftertaste.

M-Low/medium carbonation. Light/medium body. Decent standard medium IPA body, that just waters down with the full sip later. Finishes watery. I wish this was a tad thicker. As it warms it gels together, but little too late.

O-An interesting take on an IPA. The smells and tastes were there, but could have been more pronounced. To make me want to quickly finish the beer. I took ample time instead lazily drinking/reviewing. While there, the pine was muted, as well as the hops. Instead of IPA you get a fruit flavored generic APA in taste. Cranked down to a lighter version of what it should be. And the thin finish on the body had this brew tasting and feeling like a neglected glass of air exposed low carbonated thin white zinfandel with a dash of hops. No regrets on purchase. I'm a hibiscus fan. But not of this beer too much. Coin toss if you should try or not. Good rating via I'm a softie for hibiscus and the beer is not horrible. Expected more.

bomber.

pours a ruby red color with a nice head. smell is big and fruity with maybe raspberries or another sweet fruit. though its more flowery fruity... if that makes sense. the taste though isn't as nice... It's not very fruity and is actually very light. it doesn't have much hoppy characteristics at all. light bodied, mild carbonation.

overall its decent, not my favorite.
