Perfect Tin is, in fact, a pretty immaculate looking Amber Ale. Its resplendent ruddy-orange complexion is enhanced by sharp, piercing highlights, pristine clarity and a thin, fleecy white head. To sum it up in a word: gorgeous. Too bad I'm about to drink it because this liquid could have had a lucrative modeling career.
Chinook, Cascade, Centennial and Kent Golding is my kind of hop bill! It promises to provide a comprehensive balance of leafy, fruity, floral and piny aromatics - yet it smells like malt is the star of this show. There's very little (if any) hop element; the aroma is comprised of an underlying biscuity, toffee-laden graininess. It isn't much to get excited about.
The taste is modest and unsophisticated, as expected. The gentle nutty, toasted pecan sweetness and caramelly finish are both pleasant and unembellished. It's an overall clean and mildly flavourful profile, though I admit I definitely prefer more ostentatious variations of the style - it's a shame to let a hop profile like that go to waste!
That said, an Amber like this is really intended for lighthearted times and unfussy palates. This may not be very impressionable but that's fine - some people prefer their burgers plain, without condiments and the bun not toasted. This is very much a beer with original purpose: for everyday, for everyone, for having more than just one.
Perfect Tin is a perfectly ordinary Amber that's sure to meet most people's approval... so long as they aren't really into craft beer. It's important to note, however, that its underwhelming personality stems not from the brewer's disinterest but, rather, from their interest in pleasing as many Baton Rouge residents as possible. In that effort I'm sure they succeed.

Pours an effervescent caramel with 2 fingers of cream colored head. Good lacing & average head retention
S: Bready & toasty, fades as it warms
T: Toasty, dry & caramel up front. More of the same as this warms, a little leafy & woody hoppyness as well. Finishes dry, toasty with a little astringency
MF: Medium body, semi-prickly carbonation, decent balance, thins a bit as it warms
Drinks easy, but nothing to get excited about
