So pumped this is in cans!
Appearance: Pours a medium brown with a nice fluffy two fingers of khaki white head that fades to a solid lace.
Smell: Coffee and roast up front followed by nice rich chocolate. A very inviting smell and what I'd expect from its description.
Taste: Light but solid coffee flavor followed by rich chocolate and roasted barley, a slight nutty texture and overall creaminess. Well rounded and complex.
Mouthfeel: Medium bodied with low carbonation and a nice creamy texture. Greatly balanced and easy drinking.
Overall: A fabulous porter that is extremely well rounded and balanced. Absolutely worth trying and I'm pumped it is in cans!

Pours a dark brown colour, some clarity. First pour, got a near finger head, second, about a finger and a half...I think the keg was nearing completion. Colour was tanned.
Aroma had a very nice roasted coffee, chocolate and roasted malt smell. Slight sweetness.
Taste was also nicely coffee, roast, chocolate, caramel, and very mild bittering hops.
Body was upper medium, creamy, good carbonation and soft feel.
Great coffee notes without seeming at all stale or over sweet. Great local coffee porter! To hell with seasonal, brew it all the time!

A-brown color with a clear red tint when the light shines through and it has a tan head that leaves a lace
S-mocha, coffee aroma with hints of chocolate
T-roasted coffee with hints of mocha and chocolate and the hops comes in the bitter aftertaste, but that is short lived because the coffee takes back over
M-medium carbonation and full body
O-if coffee tasted as good as this then I would be hooked on coffee. The bitterness makes this beer score outstanding for me

Poured from a can into a snifter, made a lovely, fleeting head.
Appearance - Deep black body, tan and wispy head.
Smell - Cocoa, chocolate and a little vanilla very nice. The smell is the best part of this beer.
Taste - Cocoa mostly, rpasty aftertaste. Very typical for coffee porters.
Mouthfeel- Somewhat light for a porter, but that viscous nature is still present though not as dominant.
Overall - A nice beer, reminds of me of Victory of Sea by Ballast Point which is the benchmark for coffee porters for me. It doesn't stack up, but for a local beer it is quite good. The best way I can describe is that it starts out very strong then peters out kind of fast. The finish is its weakest point still a very nice beer. I'm proud to see this from Louisiana.

Had this one while visiting New Orleans for Cantillon Zwanze Day! Served from tap into a nonic. Poured a deep red-brown with a half finger off-white head that subsided to a minimal amount quickly. Maintained excellent lacing throughout the glass. The aroma was comprised of sweet malt, roasted malt, dark chocolate, milk chocolate, and coffee. The flavor was of sweet malt, roasted malt, dark chocolate, milk chocolate, coffee, and powdered chocolate. It had a medium feel on the palate with medium carbonation. Overall this was a good brew. I’m a pretty big fan of coffee porters and this one was definitely a good example of the style. Very nice notes of coffee and sweet chocolate going on here that made it rather easy to drink and very nicely balanced. A well done brew that I wish I had steady access to, if you do, I suggest you take advantage of it.
